Leopard leaping in June
Source: ThinkSecret
___________ Apple is currently planning to release Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard in June, mostly likely at or around its Worldwide Developers Conference, reliable sources report. The release will come at the tail end of spring, which ends June 21, enabling Apple to meet its original shipping estimate. As recently as January Apple had been targeting a ship date of end March—as noted by multiple Think Secret sources and other media reports—but the company elected in recent weeks to move the date back. Sources privy to the reasons behind the June ship date could tell Think Secret the details only off the record, however. "Leopard is shaping up to be a more significant release than anyone expected, with much more to come than any of the developer builds have led on," one source said.

I was wondering, does it cost to upgrade from 10.4 to 10.5? If it does, I'll wait to buy a Mac Book.

Yes, generally it does cost to upgrade for each .X version of 10.X.

...to the tune of $129 or so... So, you should probably just wait - beside a macbook tech refresh may be on the way too.

I think the retail price of $129 is the same price for upgrade. I'm not sure they have an upgrade discount.
But $129 is a great deal for all that. You can get like a 5 PC license for $179 or $199 or something. Pretty sweet deal, imo. |
