Samsung has
announced the launch of their new 64GB solid state drive (SSD) at the annual Mobile Solutions Forum in Taipei. This new drive, which is set to enter mass production in Q2, is based on eight-gigabit single-level-cell (SLC) NAND, and (according to Samsung) offers a significant performance increase over conventional SSD's. Samsung claims that read performance for the new 64GB drive has increased 20% compared to its 32GB predecessor, while write performance is up a whopping 60%.
