Thermalright HR-07 Memory Cooler Review @ Madshrimps

Review: Madshrimps
_______________
Thermalright is known as a very competent and successful manufacturer of aftermarket cooling gear. Today, we take a look at their latest gem, the HR-07 Memory Module Cooler. This passive cooler is made to cool your ram beyond any stock heatsink or heat spreader. Have a look and see if it surpasses its daring intentions...

A very interesting result there, for the original "heatspreaders".

With low airflow, and maybe typical of a machine not carrying an additional complement of case fans, the original plates were worse than nothing, even with high fans, there was little difference.

So the heatspreaders on most "performance" memory would seem to be purely decorative, the extra dissipation area barely making up for the thermal coupling losses from chips to plate.

Convinced me not to bother pulling my spreader-less RAM to put cheap ones on

I really like the look of these but my only concern is that most AMD boards now require 2 chips to run side by side to enable dual channel. I know this is the case with my Fatality board.
Shame really as I wouldn't mind trying a set out. Also did I miss it or did they not show what if any increases they could make on the Ram?
