Is it worth getting an iPod fixed?

My 30 GB color iPod bit the dust. I see on Apple's Web site that it charges "up to a US$100" diagnostic fee, plus whatever to fix it.

I can buy the new 30 GB video iPod for $230, so I'm wondering whether to get this one fixed at all.
