Interestingly, the Microsoft website hasn't been updated to indicate RTM as (at least as of this writing) it still says RC1.

I downloaded from SoftPedia and it seems fine as well. However, Maxthon crashes when it's run now. Not a big deal if I choose to make a total switch, but still.

runs great, dont see any changes from RC1 which i didn't expect but sure is fast and IE7 has been stable for the most part ever since RC1.

INTERNET EXPLORER 6 EDIT: OK...here's the scoop on this (at least from my experience): The install package REMOVED IE 7 (Apparently) and then prompted for a Restart of the computer. When I restarted, my IE was reverted to IE6! I don't know why. But, I re-downloaded from the Yahoo source again, and ran the installer a second time and NOW, it's back to IE7. Soooooo....if for some reason anyone ends up with IE6 again after using this, either download the file again OR run the installer again to see if it fixes it. EVERYTHING on the installer package on my first attempt showed that it was supposed to be installing IE 7. All the splash screens etc. So, I'm still at a loss as to why I ended up with IE6 the first time. EDIT 2: Well, I just installed the package downloaded from the link I posted later in this thread. Apparently, what the Yahoo package failed to do was to complete the installation after the system restart. That's what's going on with the second system right now. In fact, there's been TWO restarts as a result of installing IE 7 Final on this second system.

I'm referring to the link that MIG posted for the download from Yahoo. See my edit in my post above. A second download and second install has fixed the problem.
EDIT: BTW, here's another link that provides a package that doesn't have to be unpacked if one doesn't wish to use the Yahoo tools. http://www.flexbeta.net/main/comment...shownews=21873

Updated both my 32-bit and x64 version, and I'm back on Opera now.

Most common complaint - where's the history button !
Answers to that: 1. CTRL-SHIFT-H keyboard shortcut 2. At the bottom of the "recent pages" dropdown beside the Forward button. 3. The "Favourites" star is closest, as the panel opens to Favourites, Feeds or History, whatever it was showing before - leave it on history and it acts as the history button. The other things to practice are: CTRL-Click link - open in TAB (backgrounded) CTRL-SHIFT-Click link - open in TAB And finally, getting out of the window closing habit when using tabs.

Well, I tested it, and it seems like (at least for me) if you use a program that uses IE's engine, like Maxthon, FireFox with IETab or FeedDemon's Internal browser, it'll crash the program. At least with Maxthon and FireFox / IETab it's pretty consistent and occurs in about 30 seconds to a minute. I've only seen one FD crash.
Backed out the install, back to IE6. |

Meh, Im not that impressed. Its much slower than Opera, and tabs feel funny to me. Text is blurry as well.
I will say they did a nice job using the screen, I like how the view looks. Other than that, Opera blows it out of the water.

i guess i'm surprised because when ie6 came out, it also came out w/an updated version of outlook express attached. that made the overall d/l larger than ie7 is now. that is if i remember correctly.

I still prefer firefox, but it does have some nice features that I would like to see in firefox (some, but not all, of which are already present in FF2.0 I believe).
