Trojan piggybacks on Firefox

Source: News.com
___________
A new Trojan horse making the rounds has been installing itself as a Firefox extension, according to security company McAfee.

The FormSpy Trojan attacks computers that have already been infected with the Downloader-AXM Trojan, according to a security advisory McAfee issued Tuesday. Once FormSpy is executed, it installs itself as a component of the popular Firefox browser.

So where are all the FireFox fanboys touting their 'superior to IE' browser now? Life sucks when you're in the same (sinking) boat, doesn't it.

Firefox IS in the top ten list of the software with the most open security holes, give it a break.

Read the article....

It's not a flaw in Firefox, it's an extension which has to be downloaded, approved for download and the approved to be installed....

Hell i can make an exe file which totally delete everything on your computer and sends your personal files to me, but you have to download it and install it, uuuuh very advanced or wait

I know its not a flaw - I'm not that blind. I'm merely point out, as you have done so well for me, how defensive folks get when they realize thier golden prize is just as vunerable as everything else.

Just so we're clear - IE7 will be the same way - future versions of FireFox will be to.
