AMD AM2 Overclocking @ [H]ard|OCP
Source: [H]ard|OCP
_________ Finally we have gotten our hands onto some of the slower clocked AMD socket AM2 processors and get to see what kind of headroom these CPUs have when it comes to overclocking.

It's nice and i like the updated part (thats easy overclocking), but i'm guessing it's using ALOT of watt up there. Thats why I'm looking forward to Conroe, due to it's 0.65 nm design it's has a really low watt usage

Not really, the X2 is a rather cool processor, even when overclocked. The AM2 processors seem to overclock rather well. I've got two 3500+ for my testbeds, one can reach 2.8GHz (1.45V) and the other 2.97GHz (1.55V) fully stable, using the stock cooler. Not bad at all, wouldn't you say?

Sure about that: http://www.pcper.com/images/reviews/265/power.gif
Looks a bit high to me, and the one in the article is pushing 2,7 and 1,66V on the core, gotta be pushing alot of watts. |

Well known the old P4's run a lot hotter than any of the x2's. Wattage doesn't always directly relate to thermal output.
