CEO of eBay sees faster growth

Meg Whitman, CEO of eBay, promised faster growth and market share gains in opening a meeting with Wall Street analysts on Thursday.

"We plan to grow our revenues even faster and gain share in our addressable markets," Whitman said in introductory comments to investors and reporters at the start of the company's six-hour annual analyst-day meeting in San Jose, Calif.

However, Whitman stopped short of raising the company's outlook for 2006 and repeated a full-year revenue forecast of $5.7 billion to $5.9 billion.
