'Superman' in a fortress of 3-D

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "Superman Returns" will leap onto Imax screens in 3-D in the summer.

Three or four sections, totaling 20 minutes, will be projected in 3-D using a proprietary process developed by the large-format exhibition firm. During the movie, audiences will be given a visual cue to put on and take off their Imax 3D glasses for the stereographic sequences.

"Superman" will be simultaneously released to Imax and conventional theaters June 30 via Warner Bros.

Director Bryan Singer's film stars Brandon Routh as Clark Kent/Superman, as well as Kevin Spacey and Kate Bosworth.
