samsung 204b
my daughters asked me what i wanted for xmas & my bday(march), i jolingly said a new monitor, they asked which one, & to make a long story shprt i just took delivery of a brand new samsung 204b - 20,", 1600x1200 nat res, 800:1 contrast ratio, & an approx 5ms response.
 it was with some trepidation that i went with an lcd, but given my back problems & the weight of a 22"crt... anyway, i was expecting this to prettty be nice considering the price, but it is way beyond my expectations! the iq is just stunning!! my desktop looks much better & when i went running around in GW i could not beleive the difference in iq! & i thought i had it pretty good before with my 19" true flat. dont think i could go back now. & this is coming from a guy that has constantly pushed crt mon. if you want a kickass lcd monitor & have $500, this is it!!! even DH looks much better. everything does. if you cant tell  , i am really jazzed  |

it is totally awsome! the more time i spend on it the more i liike it. i know i am driving my daughters & wife nuts telling them how much i like it. my youngest lives in florida & i called her 6x before it got to late.
 samsung has some pretty good color calibration software they include with it. as good as it was out of the box, i was actually able to tune it a little better pretty easily with their apps. |

samsung is the best bang for your buck on screens by a mile, and easily the 2nd best ver all as well.
Only Sony makes a better screen, but Sony knows they have everyone beat by 6 monthes EASY, and so they charge an extra few hundred bucks [seems to usually be 25-30%, actually] |
