Later on in the show, they let the helicopter go 2 miles out and the lotus is toast in 2.75 seconds
But yes, that car will out handle damn near anything. And it is plain and simple, the fastest 4 wheeled 4 cylindered car ever built on natural aspiration. [They'll do north of 200 tricked out, mind you]
...and the best part is, you can have one of them imported AND tricked out, for less then a corvette. Off the lot here in Atlanta they are around 48,000, where as a vette is pushing 58,000

Always liked the looks of Lotus style of design.and with this car being extremely small,no surprise how nimble it looks.

I don't know if any of you guys noticed how ugly the mirrors were on those cars or were you all just ignoring it. The design must have been devired from man who swung the other way as he would obsessed with a certain something...
I think overall it could be better, probably fast, probably good handling. I wouldn't take it for free I'd sell it. All cars now adays bite off of others designs making none of them truelly unique. I see quite a few cars I know in this ones model. Hopefully that isn't the final version as the mirrors make me want to puke.

Actually I don't find the car's visuals appealing either. It's definitely a nice lil car for speed and handling, but I wouldn't buy it.

The RX-8 is not in the same class as this car. Here are some power to weight ratios to chew on (expressed in lbs/bhp, lower is better):
- 2005 Ford GT - 6.34 (3485/550)
- 2005 Dodge VIper - 6.82 (3410/500)
- 2005 Corvette C6 - 7.95 (3179/400)
- 2005 Porsche 911 (996) Turbo - 8.24 (3660/444)
- 2005 Lotus Exige 240R - 8.43 (2050/243)

- 2005 RX8 Turbo - 12.73 (3029/238)
Add to that gaudy 8.43 lbs/bhp the fact that the car has fully functional underbody ground effects to go with that rear wing, and gets almost 30 MPG. . .this may be one of the top five production vehicles of all time.
My 2 cents (OK, maybe more like 25 cents, but, whatever).

Hmm, the mirrors don't look like Johnsons to me. Perhaps it is you who are obsessed. . .

O no not the mirrors, the entire car itself. The mirrors are just plain nasty though. If someone stuck their arm the window holding a mirror and paint their hand yellow it would look better, or at least the same. The body design is nothing new though. I need to have some edges or I wouldn't like it. Yes cars can have too many curves just like a car can look like a box.
