I'm screwed. Really really screwed
So I went to a community college during highschool because I thought highschool was the dumbest thing since doorknobs. I did well...got great grades...but I didnt have enough credits to get an Associates of Arts (which transfers over to 4-year universities VERY well) so I decided that I'd stick around and get my last 10 credits in this quarter. Well I found out one of them had to be a political science class to get into my major (which is fine thats what I wanted anyway).
Well heres the deal. a) my prof hasnt shown up in 2 weeks. We cant find him but the students in his other class say he shows up just fine SO we're guessing hes not doing our thing anymore. Its a largely computer based class in that all of our assignments and such get turned in via the internet. Its a really good system thats been used in alot of other classes. I far prefer it. Anyway so now its sounding like we might all possibly get incompletes because he may be dumping us. Well heres the deal. A) that means I lose my scholarship, B) that means I could get my acceptance to the University of Washington revoked, and C) even if I DONT get my acceptance revoked, I dont have the classes in political science that I need so I cant take my major. Since I'm transfering in as a Junior I MUST DECLARE A MAJOR IMMEDIATELY! IT SUCKS!
I'm so screwed I cannot even believe it.
I filed a complaint with the political science department, with this guy's secretary, I dropped notes in his office, I contacted the Dean of his department, AND the dean of the SCHOOL. Uhg...and I got everyone else in the class to do the same.
I dunno though. I really cant afford to get dropped from this class.

Ouch. Any other school around that HAS a political science class? The one you can still get in of course? Even if it means commute a little farther, it sure sounds better than not being able to get into something you really want to do for another year (and effectively "waste" it).

That sounds illegal as far as his work contract goes...I hope you don't get the shaft as far as your scholarship goes, especially if it's your prof's fault. Good luck with it gemini, good on you for taking an active role in solving the problem

Is there a class outside of school that is similar to that one? Because if you take one out of school, often times they will let you sub it in if the place where you went is credible.

oh well I can take it up with them and probably not get kicked out (I doubt I'll get kicked out anyway) but I can't take it up with them over the scholarship. The scholarship is through a private organization and they have pretty strict rules.

thats what I'm saying. It IS weird. I mean if he didnt show up to ANY of his classes this would make WAY more sense but just this ONE?! I really don't get it.
I mean my brother had him as a prof way back in the day and said that the dude is pretty unreliable and vague, but he never skipped out this much.
I don't really know what to make of it. Sadly his ass wont get any beatdown though since he has tenure...they really cant fire him.
uhg I really don't know what to make of all of this.

Only thing i could think of is talking to someone higher up then him. And hopefully they can help you get into another class or get some credit for what you did. If not that is complete BS.

i have an idea....if it'll fit into your schedule and see if it works though......why don't you go to one of his other classes that you've heard he doesn't skip out on, and see if he'll apply what you learn in there to your normally scheduled class

don't lose hope, it's hardly your fault the teacher just doesn't turn up
i'm not sure if you have like a course out-line, or whatever it is that tells you waht you need to learn - maybe it might help if you try to privately study what's left in the course - but if you need to hand work iin, that might be a different story
but still, don't lose hope

HAHAHAHHHAHAHAH!! Well the dean went and talked to the teacher because I got the entire class to email him (which appearently was ALOT of email for the guy) and then the dean emailed me back to say that my teacher accidentally formatted his hard drive! OH MAN! I'm betting it just kicked the bucket but they gave him a new computer and he sent me an email right away to say that hes got things running again and he'll be available to talk.
FINALLY.
