How many of you have made a comment or a remark that, after a moment of reflection, you realized should have been left unsaid? We probably all have at one time or another.

So, what did you say and what was the situation that made the comment inappropriate?

I'll start it off with something I said and wished I'd paid more attention to the person's situation I said it to.

I was talking to one of our managers tonight after clocking out and getting ready to go home. I noticed that he was a little distracted by some accounting stuff he needed to do, so, I said, "I guess I'll go ahead and leave and get out of your hair."

Problem: He's bald. Not only is he bald, he shaves his head and waxes it.

So, it wasn't the best remark for me to make in that situation.

Anyone else got an example?

THE SCENE: Starbucks down the street from my office.
THE CHARACTERS: My business partner, myself, and two cute baristas I like to flirt with

Me: Grande Mocha, please
Them: Would you like whip?
Me: Yeah, I never turn down a good whippin!

Hardy har har. . .except to the two African American gentlemen waiting for their coffees, whose heads spun around like Linda Blair. They both looked away immediately, and neither said anything, but man I felt like an ass.

My friend's uncle who's a lawyer was having an interview to get a job in a big firm. The interviewer, a old man, was handiccaped missing one hand .... then the interviewer let fall his pen . The lawyer being a very helpful little boy jump under the desk and try to find the pen . The old man ask so you found it ? He then say whitout thinking ...Nah i just found a old hand !!!

He was sure that the job was out of reach at this point and ask a thousand pardon and left the office even if the interview wasn't finished ... know what ? 2 days later the old man call him back to told him congratulation on his new position !
