I just woke up, but from the sounds of it things are pretty bad right now. My prayers go out for the innocent hurt in this tragedy.

canada is in afghanistan but not in iraq... but i always keep thinking that if al quaeda's modus operandi is maximum terror, canada is a nice soft target. the shock value would be huge... realistically we're the ultimate pacifists, certainly out of the G8 we have the 'cleanest' record (note: part of that is due to our weak-willed political leadership).
personally i think 'we' (western nations) need to get over Iraq and focus on hunting down Basayev and Bin Laden. Too many distractions, lets focus on the hard work. A message that "we will catch you no matter how hard you try to hide" if probably the best terrorist deterent right now.

The real shitty thing is, it doesn't matter where your country is, politically. These people are terrible, crazy pieces of shit. If there wasn't some war going on, they would find some other reason to do it (The same thing they have been doing to each other for years). The political spin is just the new thing, the new reason. Its the ignorance and the depression that fuels it.

This was not something I was expecting to wake up to, I flip on the TV to CNN, and the headline reads "London Terror", there were only people talking, and it was nothing of bombs or attacks. So I thought it was purely metaphorical, then they started showing the pictures, and chills ran down my spine. My condolences go out to the friends or family of the people who have died or been injured in London. 37 Dead - 700+ Injured

This wasnt something anyone expected nitrousoxide52, London, and the UK as a whole were on a high after winning the 2012 Olympics, and this happens, terrible, and a total waste of human life.
I hope the people behind this get caught, and face serious prison time, there are some truly evil people in this world, and times like this show they dont care about anything, especially not innocent lives.

I'm home sick today from work, and just woke up to all of this. My thoughts, and prayers go out to all the people in the UK, and especially London. These attacks accomplish nothing.

according to the news reports it is....for a terror attack that is,i certainly can't recall anything like this....the ira mainly carried out single attacks so today makes these look minor.
Hundreds injured and at least 37 dead....

i really hope with the G8 meeting going on they can agree on doing something to stop something like this ever happening again.
i remember the 9/11 bombings, and the ones in madrid and now this here. i though going after afghanistan and al qaeda was going to stop this, but now im starting to feel this war on terror cannot be won. i hope something can be done to stop people dying this way and get rid of terrorism because right now no one is safe unfortunately.
i really feel for the people that where in the middle of the chaos yesterday. imagine getting up, taking the underground to go to the office and then something like this happens... its awefull

I have seen the BBC and CNN news this morning and interviews with Americans injured and affected by the tube blasts were empowering. The response and professionalism by the Emergency Medical crews and Londoin PD were lauded as the finest in the world, and there was absolutlely no panic according to victems and rescuers alike. I was touched by the resolve of many Brits to carry on and continue with the day to day, it was the price they pay in a free society, a tolerant society, and even with the thousands of hours of camera tape and survillience, many Brits felt confident that the government and the authorities would sort this all out eventually, and they could carry on with their affairs.
I remember listening to an elderly english woman, a nurse during the Blitz and Dieppe, whose words painted a picture in my mind of courageous spirit and firm resolve, of English Stoicism, and quiet and enduring professionalism. Perhaps the courage that sustained Londeners during the most troubling times of World War II has been reawakened, becuase the news reports I see paint the same picture with the broadest brush of my own palette, the spirit that remains unbroken. Drop bombs, blow up buses and trains and commit acts of terror, but I suspect the world will see the English as well as the Americans wield a mighty sword, and will cut down dismember the terrorists, if now now...very very soon.
