Queen/guitar fans
Some of you may know, rock band Queen recently reformed and are at the end of a great tour. I was at the show in Ireland a while ago and it was awesome. apart from going deaf for a while after it from Brian Mays Amplifier setup!
A guy I know from Italy took in his cellphone/low end camera and took some video footage. Ok its not great but I thought those of you into soulful rock guitar with some masterly bends might like a look at this short clip of Mr May in mid solo. For those of you who hate over the top guitar acrobatics, dont worry its not like that, lets leave that stuff to malmsteen and his cronies (yawns).
Of course im sure this isnt wonderfully legal so dont be coming down on me too hard but I felt the queen fans who didnt see the old lads playing again might like a peak.

Awesome guitar solo, as always, Brian May is masterful
My dad was a huge Queen fan, and it rubbed off onto me, so seeing stuff like that is always cool, may I just ask who they had as lead singer for the tour, I have to admit I wasnt aware of the tour (shame on me )

Yeah, I didn't know there had been some kind of reformation.... can't be all that great without Freddie Mercury prancing all over the stage... poor guy

Paul Rodgers is the singer, from Free/Bad Company, it works well as he has a completely different style of voice to Fred.

Well to be honest, its not meant to be the same. No one really has that idea when they go. ive talked to quite a few people who went to the shows and they all loved it because basically the wealth of queen material and strength of songs just stands on its own. Also with paul rodgers he brings a different edge to it, its soulful and the band played a lot of the old free stuff, like "all right now", "wishing well", "fire and water" and I have to admit they did some great renditions too. It was also quite emotional seeing so many people my own age in the crowd almost in tears when brian sung "love of my life" with the empty chair beside him as if Freddie was there with him.
Since ive been a kid ive always been a massive guitar junkie from vai, to al dimeola, but no one can really hit me like May, his harmonics and progressions were always so from the heart and tuneful. Im glad he is finally getting the recognition he has deserved for so many years. Sometimes having a massively strong and openly camp lead singer can have a negative effect with the critics if that makes any sense!

Its all the classics, its just basically a tour to get on the road again. but I think after the tour DVD release they are working on some material.

A concept video would be nice, I have seen Paul Rodgers drunk in Japan, playing with Jimmy Page, god what a mess, but I love his voice...I see guest appearances in the future from other band members as well, this can only get better...

I clicked on those buttons in your sig a while back and was sick that they weren't coming across the pond. Thanks for the trip back 25 years. Only a REAL musician can make you feel their emotion when they play. Saw them here in Charlotte at the old coliseum in a cloud of sweet smoke, real lighters begged for encores, the floor shook with all the stomping, no assigned seats, people sitting on the cement perimeter at the top of the building the late 70's .
We love your UK bands over here.
Zardon, definately go see Robin Trower if he ever plays a venue over there.
Hope all is well with all you UK forum folk and your families over there today, it stings all the way over here tonight. When I drive to Boston up I-95 I still look over to the right like I always did. Almost every time at that moment going past the Meadowlands towards the big city I forget. ___________ times have changed.........

Try some Joe Satriani too, or Steve Vai....I recommend it....
Brian May has some solo efforts as well I believe.
