Ubergrendle is on a distinguished road

recommended name changes:

1. nitrousoxide69
2. YAYTITSAndrew
3. CDsspontaneouslycombustat300degrees
4. Zardoz

I considered previously asking from a name change from ubergrendle to Iago (which is my counterstrike name) but i'm on FARK.com and Slashdot as ubergrendle, and now on BF2 so i'll stick with it. There's not alot of ubergrendles in the world whereas apparently there's alot of Iagos.

why Falstaff

Why would you want to chamge you name to that
He was popular enough a character that Queen Beckie insisted Shakespeare make another play with him included...The Merry Wives of Windsor. Its kind of like Homer Simpson or Peter Griffin -- moronic simpletons that are loveably stupid. Not that I would disparage the character of Fallang_Jeff with such terms...he's not loveable at all.

For the record...
Funniest Shakespeare play: Much Ado About Nothing
Best OJ Simpson life story: Othello
Best villian: (tie) Richard III or Iago
Most bodies: Titus Andronicus (I think)
Coolest adaptation of Shakespeare to screen: The Forbidden Planet (The Tempest)
Best adaptation of Hamlet to screen: surprisingly, IMHO, Mel Gibson's version

Falstaff is just super!Falstaff is just super!Falstaff is just super!Falstaff is just super!Falstaff is just super!Falstaff is just super!Falstaff is just super!Falstaff is just super!

Fellow DH members, it actually started years ago when my brother and I were learning literature when we went to school in Crete, at Iraklion Air Station. My father insisted that we adopt characters and attempt to participate in some play acting. Our school chose Shakespeare, my brother was Henry IV and I was given the role of Falstaff, he grew to love his character and I to mine, therefore it was a kind of running joke between us for years. Now that he is serving on second tour in IRAQ and myself here working for the government, we often joke about it still, but I miss him and I suppose it is my way of connecting to a time and a place when we could sit and play chess, talk about girls, eat a nice meal or drink Henninger beer on the beach....our childhood and innocence is gone but this legacy remains. My brother is Henry and I am Falstaff....
We also enjoyed 50's music but that is another story.
Where ever I am and where ever my brother is, we are still bound together..

Yeah, i guess if you haven't heard of or seen this movie the joke is kind of wasted. its a DISASTROUS, HORRIBLE cult movie set in a post-apocalyptic world. There's a penis cult and Connery is an early version of Mad Max... its just...such...a horrible movie. Eye-gougingly bad. Horrible.

Directed by John Boorman no less.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070948/

This movie was done during the James Bond years when Connery was trying to break out of type casting. It worked...he successfully broke into the whacked-out transvestite hooker genre.

It established the Connery-ism that he would appear in any movie, no matter how bad it was, for the money. In comparison...Highlander 2? SHAKESPEARE! Entrapment? Citizen Kane for that year. Medecine Man? A modern day Casablanca...
