Anyone else seen this tv show? its very good indeed. highly recommended. 20 episode in the first series and its produced by JJ ABRAMS same person who handles "The shield".

Ill not ruin the whole thing but its basically about a plane that comes down on a desert island and the people have to survive.

Yeah, I've heard of it and seen the previews but never watched it. I'll have to check it out sometime. Tell me though, is it a spooky show?

Ah, okay. I'll check it out anyways, it does look like one of the few worth watching shows on TV nowadays.

BTW, you should check-out a show called The Office. You might of heard of it as it was originally a UK sitcom. It's pretty funny.

Yes that show was massive here, but I think the USA remake has a different lead for Mr Brent (its a remake). not sure to be honest, I never followed it across the water. but very funny show, wasnt sure that show would "translate" well into the USA, I found the humour there different.

Yes Kate is beautiful, very classy lady. The whole cast is very strong (some people from other great shows like Roswell and Firefly in it too)

ya, lost has been huge over here... ive never watched it though.

as for The Office, i watched the first episode of it last week when it came out here, mind numbingly boreing. they showed the 2nd episode a few days later and i just turned hte damn thing off after about 10 min.

lol, i wish i could watch either show. i live a second shift life, my job is second shift, and my schooling is second shift...i have maybe 1 night a week where i can sit down and watch TV.

i saw the first epp of lost and thought it was good, but i never got to see it again.

i've seen 2 epps of the office and find it very funny. the show is all about awkward moments and drawn out silences, which are what i find to be funny things.

my kind of humor is an almost sadistic barrage of randomness, self mocking/embarresment, and long silences. the more comfortable i am w/ my friends, the more random and less intellegent i seem.

when i do watch primetime TV it's usually the show 24. meh, it's pretty horrible lately...like last weeks epp.

jack calls some people who are hiding from terrorists in an enclosed building

...turn off the damn ringer you morons...doesn't your phone have a vibrate function!? and if you were hiding out in a rocky hilly desert, would you say "oh, there's the one building w/in 40 miles, let's hide in there!"? i don't know...i think i would hide outside the building after breaking the window on the door to make it look like you're inside...seems like that would work a little bit better...

the writers of 24 just want any excuse to shoot someone...if they don't have a main role, expect them to either get shot up or to die. jack was in the field w/ some other agent, i turned to my mom (who still is in love w/ sutherland) and said, "watch, he's going to die" about 30 seconds later he got shot w/ an uzi...

Lost and 24 are my favorite TV shows, the only ones I cant miss anyways. I would not reccomend starting to watch lost in the middle of the series. There is so much character development and such that even if you miss one episode it could be really confusing (more confusing) as to whats going on. The only problem is in the states its on ABC, and ABC tends to destroy good shows. For example, one week lost is a repeat, then next week its not then 2 weeks its repeat again.....You never really know whats coming on. They did the same thing w/ some other shows the last one i can remember is steven kings kingdom, hospital.

Lost is leaps and bounds better than Smallville...especially Smallville this season. I used to watch Smallville in the first season, but Lost has my wife's and my attention this season. Only 3 or 4 more episodes to go this season.

Lost is probably one of the only things worth watching on TV now. CSI is good, and the Histroy Channel. I have to admit, some stuff on SpikeTV are pretty cool (Ultimate Fighter). If I don't tape Lost on Wednesdays, my wife won't talk to me when she gets home from school, LOL.

just for the record---JJ Abrams is the creator and head writer for LOST and Alias...he has nothing to do with The Shield

You know I never thought id agree with you but I do. I remember when the first series (day?) of 24 hit tv here, I thought it was refreshing, wonderful and fast paced with nice little sub plots and twists and turns.

However with the fourth effort, even though it started well, too many of the episodes (hours) are fillers, with predictable plot lines and some massive flaws in the direction and story. Im sure some dudes have a few websites up with the howlers around these series.

They should have stopped 24 after the second series, but its all about the $$$$ nowadays, this series has been massively popular so they want to milk it out.

I would say the same thing about alias. man I loved that show for the first two series, then series three took a serious nose dive IMO, with so many stupid idiotic changes in plot I got a sore head trying to understand what the hell the writers were smoking.

I had high hopes for series 4 but its totally boring me, and even the beautiful jennifer garner is starting to irritate me with her stupid pouts and facial expressions. Every episode I sit and watch i say to myself "ok, why did I sit for 45 minutes and watch this drivel".

The only show that is holding the standard is "the shield", series 4 is a corker with some nice character developments.

Smallville has held up well, however in series 4 even though its enjoyable its frustrating at times that the characters arent developing at all, we are still in the same comic book "kent cant get near lana", and the same kryptonite villian each week. Its a little tedious now.

Right now for me though, Lost is really well handled, im sure by series 4 if it ends up popular, it will become ludicrous but if they still have kate in it, ill watch it !

Incidentally has anyone seen the new doctor who series? I mentioned in another thread how rubbish it started but man they are really laying on the fart jokes too heavy. Its purile humour and its a rubbish show.
