Microsoft - how many logos do you want to rip today...
I have seen this on couple of places already, so it might be interesting to post it here. Compare MSN Spaces logo
with Ubuntu logo

the shapes are slightly similiar… but i can see where MS gets it's design from, the MSN buddy thing.
the Ubuntu icon could have been a source of inspiration to the logo designer however…

The idea of three people in circle standing in this position is a ripoff. The shiny buddy icons aren't. Here is a thread I originally found.

They're in the same positions because it forms a hexagon. Nothing amazing there, symmetry is good.

you cant copyright a layout so much as you can an image....MS's logo clearly is 3 of their "messenger people" holding hands in a circle....good luck sueing over it being a rip of that linux thing

The heads are in the same place because the left one is left centered in both images. If the heads were at some totally random angles in both images you could say it's fishy but there's nothing fishy about left centering something.
