Versus I!
Best forum game idea I've ever come across so far, this is how it works.
Consider the two contestants, then give each a score out of 100, of how good a chance you think the contestant has to beat his/her opponent.
Example: Papa Smurf vs. Harry Potter. I give Papa Smurf 55, Harry Potter 80. This means that Harry has the better chance of beating Papa, but Papa still has a chance to beat Harry, but Harry'd probably win. I usually tally the scores after about 5 votes.
Example pic of possible out come:
First battle about to commence...
PS: Thnx to Dr. Heidi for giving me insight into the existence of this brain child.
Edit: Update
There are 8 fights in the start, all of which comprise of the initial skirmishes between pre-selected competitors (the reason for this is that a different same size picture has to be gotten for each competitor for their next appearance so as to add a little variety to the game ) and from the winners from these fights will then be jetisoned onto the 1/4 finals.
The 1/4 finals comprise of 4 fights (8/2=4) and the winners here will then move on to the semi-finals.
The semi-finals, as you would imagine, are made up of just 2 fights, and these are rather critical ones as the most favourite competitors from the previous fights will go head to head.
The two winners of the semi-finals will then go head to head in the FINALS and the winner of this fight will be the all time champion for that season.

Okay, I've decided to go with the same "cast" as the last game I last took part in went as well so as to see if there will be too much difference from the out come of that game so far.
Btw, the scores that you give do not necessarily have to add up to one hundred.

Sam Fisher: 95
Solid Snake: 51
Solid snake is mostly a console-boy and I use a PC so
Yep, seems to be going as expected, these two expected more of an audience however, so they're currently in the corner chatting each other up, playing a game of poker and trading baseball cards till things liven up a little...
Maybe I'll leave it here to simmer a little.

Come on guys, I know it's a tough choice to make, but someone's gotta go, and right now, things aren't looking too good for Solido Snake!
Will you save him, or will you let him perish? These are the questions you will have to resolve within yourselves.

Okay, it's about time we put Mr. Snake out of his misery, Sam Fisher appears to have wiped the floor with him *pulls out calculator* 425-181, not as was expected, this one was forecasted to be a close one, but then again, the weatherman doesen't always tell the truth. (the weatherlady on the other hand is another story altogether )
Match 2 set to commence in a few minutes, right after we manage to clean the arena of all the body parts from the last fight. Grusome one it was....

Okay, with Sam Fisher on to the next stage, having managed to evade Solid Snake's fists and martial art jabs using nothing but his IR goggles and tiny bits of grass, Match 2 will now begin. May the best man win.

Wow! The Doom marine fought like a man who'd been through the most frightening hellish experiences imaginable, but unfortunately, he got what was coming to him when the Master Chief used his a cool recharge shield to hand him to the audience 135-375...ugh, that's gota hurt!
Well, there you have it, the Master Chief is on to the quarter finals.
Well, Match 3 is already underway, and it seems we have two surprise appearances! Well, lets see how this guest fight goes and we'll continue with our regular programming.
PS: thnx for resurrecting that dead post Zardon

It's cool, ain't nothing like the surprise guest fight once in a while, let's just sit back and enjoy the match. You can host the next season if you like, organising these battles is hard work I tell ya!
Currently folks, it's looking bright on both sides of the fence, the Band of brothers however seem to have lost one man already, while the platoon have a critically injured combatant that took a piece of shrapnel straight to the head and can barely hold his gun...will the platoon win this one out, or will the Band of brothers obliterate them with a single RPG? Only time will tell, only time will tell...
