Over 79,000 members can we push for 100,000 by May 2005?
Can we try push 100,000 members by DH 3rd birthday party? That would be sweet if we can do it.

At least not in the Off-Topic area. I think a large number might be people looking for issues to problems, Sign up ask, wait for answear and may never return
Maybe its just me but with the amount of members DH has it sure feels allot slower than some other forums with smaller numbers.

Forums like rage3d have masses of off topic posting for sure (personally I dont care for that and is not why DH was started), however DH is more a support site for drivers and the tools we supply, I get masses of emails from people thanking us for the resources so yeah im happy with how the site is situated in the overall scheme of things.
Anyway half the posts on this site are mine

Yeah I've noticed that. For our size it seems like we have a very small dedicated fanbase. My gf has an account here but she never posts.

Site statistics for the last 6 months have been in the region of 5,000,000 a month. The site gets plenty of hits. We are actually one of the largest UK tech sites on a hit basis.
You have to look at it this way, some sites are totally catering to the forums, there are some MASSIVE chat sites for off topic posting.
For example look at xbitlabs and beyond3d and how small the forum is, however they ara top class sites.
As I said in a prior post, DH forum is busy enough with over half a million posts and we have resources/reviews/tools that people use in significant numbers.

This is true and I'm not saying we're a big site. I often feel kind of important in my own nerdy way for having so many posts here. But I've seen places with much smaller members with more dedicated posters. But there's just something about this forum that keeps me coming back....Oh who am I kidding!?
I LOVE YOU ZARDON!

If some guy from FBI comes asking about this, we didn't hear this.
Yeah, forums has been nice place to chat/guide and get guided. Great tools, good moderation and golden members. That's a whole lot of hits, nice one!
It's so nice and warm day here in Finland, I'd love to start drinking beer already outside, but work comes first. I think these warm vibrations over earth are making people so happy

Tomorrow I start my real work week so that gives me plenty of time off instead of working 6 days a week ill have 4 days off 3 days on, and have plenty of time for DH and the LAKE

honestly i have so say though, large forums with tons of fposters is not my thing. I enjoy the small tightly knit community that DH offers. I like talking to people on a more personal level and making friends rather than random banter with a million different people that i will see once. althoughh, random banter is all i usully post so maybe im just hypocritical.

All I have to say is...
"Sometime you wanna go, where everybody knows your (screen) name. And they're always glad you came. You wanna be where you can see, the troubles are all the same. You wanna go where everybody knows your name. do...dodododo do do. do...dodododo do do. bah...."
Its a great site, thanks guys.
