It wouldn't make a person live 900 years anyway, so what's the difference?

What I meant was people who only learn the "excepted" view of history maybe aren't getting the full picture.

I know "you" was meant generally, that's why I said, speak for yourself, because it doesn't apply to me. As for your post with the link explaining the decrease in life spans, you were agreeing that a supposed worldwide flood caused humans to live shorter lives. Which is really a theory explaining another theory.
I was wondering if what you mentioned about mitochondrial DNA, and the evidence of near human extinction, was from a show on the National Geographic Channel about super volcanoes, which I now know wasn't the case. In the show they found that what more than likely caused the near extinction of humans was a massive volcano, not a flood. You may or may not know what a super volcano is, but I think the name explains itself. Anyway scientists and geologists learned that around the same time humans almost went extinct there was an eruption of a super volcano in Indonesia, which killed 75% of life on Earth.

Yeah I saw that one I think. I watch all those shows- I have all those channels.
It might have been a different one, I can't remember- also the Volcano thing is just a theory too.. Maybe true maybe not, evidence can be interpreted many different ways. That's my theory, LOL

I never "agreed" with it- just presented it as a theory related to the topic...
I also found it interesting.

In the book of Genesis, the Bible routinely records human lifespans which seem outrageously different from our experience today. Adam lived to 930 years; Noah even longer, to 950 years (see graph below). These long lifespans are not haphazardly distributed; they are systematically greater before the Flood of Noah, and decline sharply afterward.
These great ages are not presented in the Bible as if they are in any way extraordinary for their times, let alone miraculous.
Strangely - just relatively recently scientists have discovered though Mitochondrial DNA that at one time the human population was almost extinct.. fits right in with this theory. Spooky.

I read a scientific paper on the theory of no againg and sorry BMX, but it ain't something we ever had as a species. The whole idea is that there is a certain gene in our chromosomes that actually tells the body to start slowing production and slowly make us get older. It's a biological time clock and with TODAYS science, we can change this. Before, there was absolutely no way. And it was completely impossible...

Well as long as you say so... it must be fact.
There are no absolutes in science... saying something is impossible because you read a paper somewhere? nobody knows for sure.

All and all ether Nature and seperations of the humen species will drive us to nuke each other off the face of earth before we even get a chance to live 150-500-1000 years old, or nature will try to counteract this and balance out how large our population is by age. Even if we do get the chance to live 1000 years, Vikingod i think is right about this, nature will eventualy bite you back in the ass and send us back down to 100 year life spans.
To live let alone 100 years is painful healthy or not healthy, time comes with experiances and what comes with experiances is also good and bad. Add up all the bad in your life, witch usualy the bad stands out the most. Your gunna be bloody misrable at 500 years old and would of probably shot your self long before that. There are so many more factors to this that its just too long a list to put in a single statement.
We may live 1000 years someday and stay that way and then we may die of self destruction or nature will counteract it like I said. There is no real answer to this.
Time till tell, nature will play an act in this in the long term most likely and if not humens will distroy them selfs as they did a long time ago with tribes from seperation of the species, they were inbreeding and eventualy died off.
Seperation of the species has been a factor of each and every person on the planet who isnt insane and missing parts in there head. Who you grow up around will be the type of people you feel most contribul around for most your life as a species of people, not just a group. A white kid grows up around black kids, he'll have no trouble with black people when growing up but may have trouble with white ppl. The Same goes for if a white kid grows up in a white family and never seen a black person before. Or a black kid grows up in the majority "mind me some people are cruel so they may not trust white ppl same goes for the black people mind u"
Dont anyone come at me about racism crap cuz im not racist. Im just looking at this in scientific terms. Infact im bi-sexual have a few black friends and whites and gay and strait friends of all sorts. So no bs please.
Im sorry if my grammer sucks but I havent seen a school book in my life so give it a rest.
I say its a 50/50 chance in all cases. I may be wrong in all my statements, who knows.
I say drink your alcohol, smoke your weed and cigerates and even sniff your coke and take your extasy if your really wanting to die. Play your video games and eat all those unhealthy foods and watch tv till your brain rotes and so much more of those things ppl call bad for you just cuz it makes you dumb as hell and slow as a snail. Have a great time cuz we're all gunna die, might as well die happy!
And the answer to getting cancer and all those nasty deasises to it is suicide. =P
A short and happy lived life with all the freedoms vs A long lived life of lisening to music quiet and eating healthy foods and lost family members and bad memories.
You choose.
I choose short and happy lived life.

Couple of points here....
1 - We struggle to feed, clothe and house the population as it is at the moment (We shouldn't, there is plenty of food to go around but that is political and therefore off-topic)
2 - The Earth is a self policing eco system, a population explosion of that kind would result in new diseases, more natural disasters, epidemics of the diseases that result from overcrowding
3 - Imagine how bored you would get!!!
OK I know thats 3 points but hey I have about 963 years left to think of more!!
