My friend had one for his Mac and I didnt catch the name, but he said that it wasnt available for windows.
Soooo anyone know a webcomic downloader available for windows? I downloaded some Perl script that was suppose to do it but I couldnt ever figure out how to make it work
So is there a program? Like, with a GUI?
Thanks dudes.

I wrote one once in delphi but never released it. Webcomics survive off of the ads and other revenue generated by actually visiting their site, so bypassing all that and grabbing just the image isn't fair. You could try using a site downloader (although that's equally as mean) or save the images one by one yourself. If you really like the comic, send an email to the artist. Maybe he'll send you all the images if you offer a small donation.

tch, my "small donation" is generally buying the books.
Since PA and some of my other favorites wont release books, and their websites are slow as snails going uphill, I think I'll just find a good script or prog to do this for me.

Did you ever stop and think that their websites might be slow because they're constantly being hammered by site downloaders? Think how you running a script/prog can affect the other users who want to view the webcomics. The web is for everyone.

since there is almost nothing to be found when it comes to site downloaders, I'd guess that the problem is either a) bad servers hosting the compics, b) poor coding of the site, or c) the comic is just massively popular(though if its that popular, they should be getting a better server. Having a better server would mean that more people could visit, and more people visiting would increase ad revenue. Also if its so popular, theres a good chance people would buy a book. Even bad comic strips have books for sale and they sell well)
edit: Oh yeah and i guess some fun DoS attacks could be possible too.

Doing a google search for "site downloader" yielded almost 500,000 hits. The I'm feeling lucky link takes you right to a download.
I would think that webcomics are a top target for site downloaders. How many other people want to have offline copies of their favorite webcomic? It's also definitely a mix of a, b, and c. Getting a better server is usually out of the question though.

Well the thing is that I dont want a site downloader. I just want a comic downloader.
I can use Firefox to download an entire site just fine.
