Well first of all Id take my thick black framed glasses and push them up with my pointer finger while squinting my eyes, then adjust my suspenders and make sure my bow tie is on straight. Then I would politely tell him (in a steve urkel voice) Im sorry sir but thats a video card, this is a hard drive, while going on a 30 minute elaborate spew of the differences while jocks walk by and try to snap my suspenders and give me wedgies and flick my ears. Shortly after I'd commit suicide after every girl in the world decided to hate me even more because they saw what i wore, and talked about in public

I'd be nice about it, but honestly if people were around and you're like "no that is not a harddrive, that is a video card" plenty of closet geeks (and open geeks) will laugh at him.

It amazes me at the number of jocks at the highschool I use to swim for that would build their own computers and knew more about electronics than ME! But the second their football buddies came by, they would shut up and talk about the new dave mathews CD(back when those were new...and popular). Interestingly enough, when their girlfriends came by, they'd brush them off and keep talking about computers. Poor girls :-P

I'd easily say "no, that be the video card, 2 completely different looking peices of hardware" and show him/her what a hardrive really looks like.... then i would proceed IF he/she seemed interested, with a little bit more details and various sizes and configurations of hardrives or video cards....
