happy chinese new year! i'mma china man myself. hahah
well altho it is called "Chinese" New Year...it is not only intended for Chinese people. Its like a cultural thing for those who celebrate the lunar calendar.

your next step would be to see if you can get away with going to one of their houses and getting those red envelopes that contain money.

My g/f is going to China to teach English(or Engrish, for some of us  ) for four months. I told her to bring me back a fine Chinese woman...and I don't think she liked that too much.  HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!!!!!!!!!
