cars cars cars... so many to choose from!
Gah.... I've recently started looking into cars because I'm going to be getting through my test soon... and the amount available is a little overwhealming! Got a few that i'm interested in...
... only real criteria are - must be under 10,000GBP including insurance - must be small and preferably with a good engine - i'm fed up with driving a large car, much prefer the small ones.
Here's some i've come up with - Unique Motor Company's QT - 8495 with leather seats + insurance... should come in at just under the 10k mark (brand new car).
Alfa Romeo 147 1.6l Lusso (low miles) - 6495 + insurance (about 7500-8000 total)
Seat Ibiza 2.0l injection 16v (high miles - about 90k) - 3000 + insurance (about 4000-5000 total)
Seat Ibiza 1.6l 8v (low miles) - 2500 + ins (should weigh in about 3500 total)
I'm very tempted by all of those... obviously the Ibiza's have more benefits in that they are much cheaper.
One thing that's nagging me though.... you just can't seem to find a decent car WITHOUT power sterring anymore! very frustrating... i don't like Power Steering.
What do you guys think? Any other suggestions of cars?
I've also had a look at Mazda RX7s, Toyota Celicas and Mitsubishi GTs... but the insurance was horrifically expensive... I can't get anything with a turbo in it
oh and btw... that UMC QT (the car at the top of the list) can do 0-60 in under 4.5s

UMC - QT? I wouldn't buy anything from Noel Edmonds, haha, it looks like what Annika Rice used to drive.

Speaking of not being able to afford a car with a turbo, I feel sorry for people in the UK, the tax rates are just so flippin high!!!
In South Africa, they pay a fraction of the insurance you guys pay on done up cars - and, believe it or not, there are more modded out cars on SA roads than there are in the UK; seen it with my own eyes I have!
Plus, there's the low emissions you guys have to comply with, meaning that, when tit comes to tat, modding a car in the UK is extremely expensive for anyone, thus is a passtime reserved only for the wealthy (mostly, there's also the fanatic who'd sacrifice limb and toe to have a tricked out ride).
I really think you people should complain, in SA, you hear turbos and superchargers whining every where you go, the number of sleepers on the road is nothing short of astounding!

That UMC QT is probably one of the ugliest cars i've seen, it reminds me of the home made beach buggies that where popular in the early 80's....
What year is that Alfa? I'd go with that..
Oh....are you rich or something?? I think i had a budget of 500£ when i bought my first car... It was a -77 Opel Ascona 1.9S but man did i love that car, i changed the carbs and the cam, and did some other mods to it. It was pretty fast...
Mine looked like this but it was red...
