Mine expires in DEC 2016.I got hold of my passport in DEC 2006.
As from July 2007 (or around that) New Applicants require an interview to determine the applicant is legit before they are issued.
Thats why i don't know the new procedure in the uk.

Do you get an appointment date for this interview after you send in the passport application? and presumably with the payment before hand?
Im asking this because my parents have booked a holiday to Portugal next year. And the last time they went abroad was something like 40 year ago.im going to be submitting the passport forms within the next week or so.
I would just like to know the routine of the new procedure.

lol i don't actually know my mum filled out the form for me.
Once you've sent off payment and the application you get a date i think

Re: Randomness Resurected
Lol, my pp expires in a couple months as well, but I'm wondering whether or not I should bother renewing it since I'm not planning on visiting soon, I've pretty much had a passport since I was a kid as I was traveling around a lot with my parents back then and still did move around a fair bit after that. Though if you're traveling to neighboring countries most places in the world most of the time you don't need a passport as long as you're a national/got permanent residence in the country you're traveling from.

What DAW you using with surround outputs? I always thought my music would be trippy in 3D, my sound cards would support it, but I don't have speakers yet.

Things Found Only in America
1. Only in America......can a pizza get to your house faster than an ambulance.
2. Only in America......are there handicap parking places in front of a skating rink.
3. Only in America......do drugstores make the sick walk all the way to the back of the store to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front.
4. Only in America......do people order double cheese burgers, large fries, and a diet Coke.
5. Only in America......do banks leave both doors to the vault open and then chain the pens to the counters.
6. Only in America......do we leave cars worth thousands of dollars in the driveway and put our useless junk in the garage.
7. Only in America......do we use answering machines to screen calls and then have call waiting so we won't miss a call from someone we didn't want to talk to in the first place.
8. Only in America......do we buy hot dogs in packages of ten and buns in packages of eight.
9. Only in America......do we use the word 'politics' to describe the process so well: Poli' in Latin meaning 'many' and 'tics' meaning 'bloodsucking creatures'.
10. Only in America......do they have drive-up ATM machines with Braille lettering.
