Well not really...
it's really strange..
the chipset drivers will install.... i'll watch the usb devices start the installation... then suddenly my monitor will go black....
nothing i do will bring it back, but the machine hasn't locked up as it'll continue to the process at which point i can hit enter and make it "ding" and fumble around....
when the computer starts up however, the resolution is below 640x480.... and nothing i do will revert it back unless i hit F8 upon startup and force 640x480 (looks like 320x240 resolution, the windows logo bubble fills the entire screen)
After i do this, install the catalyst drivers and i'm good to go.
and one last weird oddity that has happened every time as well so far..
after i install everything that needs installing..... i'll get onto the net, windows update will fire up, and emediately hardlock the system.... but it only does this ONCE.... after which is doesn't appear to ever occur again.
this may be just some quirks of the system i may be able to figure out.
the video signal issue may be directly related to crossfire (with mastercard) and or having a 2560x1600 resolution.
What's weird is according to the monitor, there is signal there.... it doesn't go into standby...
pretty weird shit..
let me see if i can grab some CPU/Motherboard temps.... last i checked i'm running 32*C system temp and 27 CPU temp.... putting my fingers directly on the base of the heatsink... barely feel warm to the touch.

i'm REALLY hoping i don't have some weird dud board.... everything else seems to be working fine otherwise.

OK
found out something else.
do NOT, setup the gigabyte(jmicron) sata controller in ACHI mode with a DVR-212, apparently windows vista freaks out everytime it queres the damn controller and stalls the system for up to 60 seconds at a time...
Even kills network connections and data transfers emediately... very shitty deal
however changing it to IDE mode seems to result in no issues. (but i was hoping for a pure sata mode)
