Anyone notice? Consumers are usually the LAST to know if you don't pay good attention to the stock markets and look specifically for the US dollar and the exchange rate...
Frankly i don't pay attention at all either but being were i work... the cashiers have to be up on it at all times..
The Canadian dollar is climbing like a bat out of hell... highest it's been for decades...
Current exchange rate is 90 cents US for our Canadian $.... and to think... just over a year or 2 ago it was around the 60 cents US for the Canadian $
Usually i wouldn't complain about that, but comsumers get shafted due to not getting increased wages for ages while the retail stores instantly mark everything up. Drives me nutz to watch a employ walk over to a $100 CD play and simple replace the second digit... How does a product that was orginally bought for a certain price... suddenly go up in value with the exchange rate? i may as well walk into my employers office and demand on my next paycheque a specific change to the second digit.
Anyways, It's interesting none the less..... Canadian eco isn't exactly doing great..... and frankly neither is the US by my own understanding....
or maybe the canadian mint is slipping a little extra silver into the quarters...
