I lost 20 lbs last year with very minimal effort.

- bring lunch to work instead of buy
- drink water frequently
- diet coke instead of coke
- when eating fast food, don't upsize. avoid fries unless you're starving.
- 1 pint instead of 2 pints on the weekly pub night w/ friends.
- Stairs instead of escalators where possible.
- Microwave popcorn instead of chips'n'dip when watching movies on the home theatre.

No big sacrifices, barely noticed a difference in anything i did. I actually enjoy my brown-bag lunches more than foodcourt food now. Anyways, there's your 20 lbs.

for a phone, all you need is a phone, not some crazy picture snapping, internet surfing, game playing $700 piece of equipment that can be easily destroyed. You have your camera (digital or old school), and your pc for internet, and playing games. my nokia 2260 does me well for my phone calls.
