Virgin Mary Sandwich Sold For $28,000
A bid from GoldenPalace.com was the winning bid for a eBay auction selling a decade-old cheese sandwich, sn reported. It is claimed that the sandwich has a likeness of the Virgin Mary on it.
The auction by Diana Duyser read: "I would like all people to know that I do believe that this is the Virgin Mary Mother Of God. That is my solemn belief, but you are free to believe that she is whomever you like, I am not scamming anyone." GoldenPalace.com's chief executive, Richard Rowe, said "We believe that everyone should be able to see it and learn of its mystical power for themselves," adding that the sandwich would be used to make money for charity.
