Hopefully getting my driving permit tomorrow
Bah, I've looked through this DMV book many times and did the online practice tests. Dunno if I'm ready to take it though. I read somewhere that 70% of people who take it on their first time fail.
For all you people who own a vehicle, which is alot of people (heh), how hard was it to get your provisional permit? It might be easier than I think

Yeah, I failed on my first attempt too.
I was only off by like 1 percent anyway, and I knew I would be able to pass it the next time I took it, but I was due to write it just last week, and guess what.....I forgot all about it! I haven't told my folks yet, but I don't know what they'll say, I know my mum will be real upset for one. I only found out, ok, realized it today, and I really don't know what I'm going to do when I get home!
Sorry for introducing another problem to your thread dude, but I really had to vent that out somewhere.
And BTW, good luck with your test man

Take a driving course such as Young Drivers if you are worried. My parents put me through it, and it built a lot of confidence and made the test very easy.

i took it in '02 and passed the 1st time. my mom sorta rushed me into, but i couldn't do anything with it cuz i didn't have money for driving school. a waste of $45. i do have to retake it when i have money for driving school and a car... good luck! btw, all i did was read the book a few times. pay attention to signs and their meanings.

Study the book with the signs and rules, practice in town and on the interstate, do a safe 3 point turn, parallel park - with those skills it'll be a piece of cake...

Just play any driving or racing game until you can drive well.
That'll do the trick!

do NOT take senor mota's advice. i repeat DO NOT TAKE HIS ADVICE.
i played alot of GT3 before i went and took my road test.... bad move, i had speed vision the entire freaking time. with that said, i still passed first try. the only real advice is use common sense, to an extent. my test administrator got real pissed at me for not keeping a constant speed going up and down hills. i went down a small hill that went right into a huge hill, i speed up down the small hill and got on the gas for the big hill. barely made it up the hill even with the running start... ended up marking me down for it because i couldnt keep a constant speed.
oh ya, and when you start driveing by your self, it wil be great. ive been driveing for about a year now and still hate haveing to drive when one of my parents are in the car.

w00t! Passed
Out of 46 questions, I missed 5. The most you could miss was 8. Now all I gotta do is driver's training and 50 hours with an adult and I can do the actual license test.

Just passed my actual drivers test after failing once- it's not a bad idea to get some professional driving intructions for all the little crap you don't even know about. I didn't and thats why I didn't pass the first time...

Ah... the DMV and their little tests... I guess I got lucky, I took the test through my phys ed class (a marking period for driver's ed) so my teacher was like "Hm... well, our test is much easier than the DMV's.." and then gave us hints like "All of the 'All of the above' answers are the correct answers." Bam! Half the test done without even reading the questions and then the rest was like stupid shit we'd gone over in class. So I never really had to take a real DMV test, but honestly, those tests obviously don't work. I mean, holy shit, some of the drivers on the roads today are just... flat out ridiculous. Whatever I'm just rambling as I'm sitting here waiting for my next class to start. Driving is fun. Cars are fun. Congrats on your test, go kick some ass.

Thnx for coming thru and admitting your status guys. Hey, maybe we should start a new DH clan, "The Bus Boys" !!!!!! What do ya say???? It'll be full of walker dudes like us (um, I think they call em pedestrians...hehe) and then we can all proudly diss whoever bad mouths us as one???
Ok, maybe not such a good idea, lol. And to make matters worse, my cuz buz just got his license the other day!!! Making me the only member currently, in my whole extended family, to not be able to drive but be just old enough to drive. Major bummer, huh???
