1986 was awesome though. I lived through the end of the arcade era. God those were the days. I read a book recently called Arcade Fever that was JUST like how it was when i was little. new machines comming out all the time...and some guy known as "FGS" or "KAL" always had the high score. people would be like "WOAH! KAL just got the highscore on the new game!" "No look FGS got the high score on tron!" "HAH KAL will get his throne back!"

the best part... I was KAL.

FGS was this big guy(or at least seemed like it) he was 17 and had a denim jacket and torn lev'is jeans. Kinda your 70's british punkrocker type. Listened to the clash alot. hehehe. He hated that a 4 yearold beat his high scores all the time.

When I was a kid, I always used to have the high score on our Galaga and Street Fighter II: The World Warrior machines at our local Tilt arcade as WJC, my initials. There would always be some silly n00b trying to take my place, but they'd never hit it. It's too bad I moved away...I'd still probably have it.
