millennium
has anyone seen the tv show millennium from chris carter the creator of the xfiles?
It stars Lance Henriksen remember the guy in Alien? the artifical lifeform / doctor?
Anyway i know this show was cancelled after the 3rd series but its an excellent tv show and all three series are out on 6 dvd box sets, well worth looking into if you want to sink your teeth into something indepth and very well written.

season 3 is out at the end of october on DVD here in the UK, I preordered it on play.com 6 DVDs with almost 1000 minutes of quality TV seems good value to me at £30.
I love the show, I also used to love the x files before they milked it dry. Millennium revolves around Frank Black a guy who works with the millennium group a team of talented criminal investigators. Frank has the ability to visit a crime scene and when he touches objects or is in the same area as the killer can see parts of his thoughts as if they were his own.
It is quite a slow show but its massively entertaining, it started off for me a basic but well executed criminal style show but as we get into the half way area of season 1 things start taking quite a twist. It all flows very well and the characterisations are top notch.
Lance is a great actor and suits this role perfectly, im glad though they stopped it at the end of series 3 as I feel if a show goes on too long it starts to get stale.
America is putting out some real quality TV lately, I mean we have 24 the mainstream series which is nice. Six feet under which is a wonderful black comedy drama, The shield which is the best cop show ive seen.
Wonderful stuff.

I love a good tv series, a film is too short for me quite often and there are many limitations, as in you cant really build a character(s) up over a long period of time because you have to fit it into a few hours. i like something that develops over many months.

Watch out for Tru Calling being repeated on UK TV. Its also an excellent show. Started off ok but by ep 12 onwards of season 1 it was fantastic. Turning more and more like Quantum Leap all the time and expanding on the Evil Leaper sort of idea.
Good stuff.

I think you might find CSI interesting too Allan, although it has several different versions out as well. I recall Sean Bean and the whole Sharpes saga's, good stuff and pretty gritty, might be worth a look see.

thanks ill be checking out CSI as well
I quite like the evil supernatural stuff too, which is why millennium appealed to me. You have a great lead character and actor in Lance (even the guys voice is commanding), good "crime/murder" style scripts but there is a lot going on under the surface which is extremely good to watch. Quite unsettling too.

i saw the first 2 seasons.... it wasn't exactly "drawing me in" kind of show.. but it had just enough interest to make me watch it majority of the time...
It really fell apart AFTER the mellennium flew by
Deadzone is another good one...
FarScape has taken alot of the world by storm.. (serprise... a movies showing up... terrible that the contract on the series couldn't be extended even though there was support from EVERYONE to keep it going)
Adromeda.... a series that started 3 or 4 years ago... very interesting... but for some reason, i just wasn't watching it.... but now i'm addicted to it every morning
Gotta love SPACE (canadian).... they have absalutely everything

There was an episode of the X-Files featuring Franck Black that added further closure to the Millenium series.
I liked the X-Files (well, the first few seasons), but not Millenium really . . . didn't watch too much though.
