I hate Hurricanes (Jeanne)
I just wanted to say I hate hurricanes. I'm in Florida and Jeanne will mark the 4th time we've been hit this year; and the 2nd time that my general area is hit. They said it was going to 'skirt' our coast or miss us all together is it boomerang'ed to the north but come now (Saturday morning) I wake up to see it's coming right for us and everything is starting to close down.
In either case I just wanted to say Jeanne is a b**** and I'm going off to play video games and watch DVDs while I can.
Have a great weekend everybody!

now you see how we feel in the midwest down tonrado alley
we had 1 year where the tornadoes ripped right around the town and took out almost all of the farmland... devistation took place
it is sad what mother nature can do, but to me it is only a test, a test to over come our fears of the thought or of losing everything. It brings families and friends closer
I hope you come out okay man good luck

Thanks guys. That's the price for living in Florida anyway; everyone has to deal with something in the area they live in and in South Florida it's extreme heat and hurricanes.
Either way I can finally watch the SW DVD set and play CoD!

Yep; Florida has been hit 4 times by hurricanes this year which is just astounding. Jeanne hit the same area as Frances hit a few weeks back so it's those people who need the most support. Hopefully the remainder of this hurricane season will be quiet as we've taken quite a beating this year.
But in this general area everything is well; Jeanne didn't take my power!

I lived in FL for many years. For one year in Orlando and the rest in the St.Pete/Tampa area. I still have a brother, some family, and lots of friends in that area.
I just got some email pics from him this evening showing the damage Jeanne did in their yard. Mind you, this is AFTER the storm's power diminished considerably....but also AFTER Frances came through that area only a couple weeks ago. They have huge trees totally blown over with their roots showing. One big tree completely destroyed a storage shed on the property. Thankfully, it was the shed and not the house.
But, like others have said, this is just nature. But what we're seeing is just how quickly nature can undo what has taken humans many, many years to put together. Kind of puts things in perspective, I'd say.

I feel the pain...just moved here from San Diego (job). Last year nothing, but this season 4 storms pretty crazy. Being in Orlando...glad that Ivan missed us. Never experienced distruction such as this. But no electricity for a week burns. It hurts big time, but always remember you still have that most important thing...your Life and Well-Being.
On a lighter side...As for the three that came and visited, never seen such messy guests. However, IMO, although extremely distructive hurricanes are pretty impressive.
