Alright so I live in Seattle, WA which is considered by many to be the DDR capital of the world(since the winning team for the international competition was won by "team seattle" I would say thats probably accurate) and yet, some of us arent allowed to go play in the arcades simply because we're mocked.

Now I get mocked by fellow DDR players often because im not ultra good. I can do the hardest songs and finish them but the really hard ones I'll get a D or a C instead of a AAA.

what i wanna know is, why do people who DONT play make fun of us? Seriously here...i mean its all fun. I like to get up there and move around. Is that so wrong? Besides i found its a great way to stay in shape when there isnt a good rave going.

so whats the deal?

hah when someone plays to where they are drenched in sweat and are stinking up the mall/arcade then there is a problem lol... i dont play it i dont find it interesting but ive never seen any1 make fun of the players

i get drenched in sweat at thome...in my basement...where I can take a shower. Otherwise no.

Alot of people dont realize how physically demanding that game really is...and while it is kindof dorky, I love it and I personally know people who are major videogame addicts(the the point of having really bad obesity) that started playing that game and are rather physically fit now. I dunno I just dont see why people should mock it.

o btw. while i am not entering tounaments, I am better than most people at the game. its physically demanding...but not hard. As long as you're fit and have a bit of practice anyone can beat the top songs.

I think it's mainly because you guys are dancing in such an actual limited way, and that you put so much actual effort into it. Might be better to actually just take dancing. Because I don't think the opposite sex appreciates you stomping your feet in 4 directiotns too much on the dance floor lol

i have to say, i use to make fun of one of my friends who played ddr, but then i tried it. now i cant stop playing the game, its so much fun! so lesson of the day, dont mock someone about something till you try it.

btw ^_^ everyone knows it isnt REAL dancing(if they dont then go ahead and mock them I'll be there right with yah) but its FUN. and its active. doesnt that count for anything?

Plus its great for endurance if you're like me and cant go for longer than 2 hours at a rave. im not really into drugs so I cant get my meth on and dance for longer like my friends do. DDR helps in that respect.

my thing is that its like...nobody makes fun of me for going and playing Soul Calibur 2 at the arcade(Cept for my brother "huh huh...i know why YOU play that...she kicks high huh? *sigh*) but when I play DDR I get mocked. I'm just curious why its something to mock someone about.

yeah its fun but its one of those games where you wait until everyone leaves then you look around suspiciously for a few minutes and take it out of closet hours later your wife catches you....things will never look up from then on.

yeah same here, i saw two asian girls playing the one time while i was waiting to see a movie, they must of been playing for like half hour and not one bead of sweat, it was so casual for them, they just flowed through the songs even as they were getting faster and more complex.

I have no rhythm, I tried it once as well as the drumming one, couldn't do either of them. Doesn't help that I'm a big guy(not fat maybe stocky or Chubby), and that would just really look disturbing, nobody needs to see that shit.

My freind was one of the best i've sceen. It was dorky, little girls get glitter eyed over it. It's really bad when they dance on the ones with the bars. Spinning around flipping and crap. Very dorkish! (Not to mention the $$$ it costs to play it day after day.)
