Oh yes, the two guys, who then say "passing you to claims" and swap phones - great advert.

Actually, this is an "advance fee fraud", just like the 419 scam.


The other thing that pops up, barely disguised, is the Pyramid scheme, or the variant, the list - eg. Latest Mobile Phone / Laptop / whatever for £20 - you only need so many more to join before you get yours.

And what is it with all the pills spam? - surely anyone with an ounce of sense knows that spammers are SCUM, and anything associated with them is extremely dodgy - there has to be a profit in it though, so some fools must be dealing with them, and givent the minimal cost of using broadband and abusing someone else's open server, they don't even need 1 in 1000 to buy from their dodgy sites.

It's all part of the same problem - If 99.9% of an actual mailing hit the waste bin immediately, the cost of materials and postage would be significant, but sending proxied email is cheap, and the unsuspecting dupe in the middle takes the flak for it.

I'll go with the prediction that if they don't start designing-in spam resistance, email is going to be rendered unusable within a couple of years.
