The earth is warming up..

how does this effect me Jeff, I am busy playing Doom 3, or downloading porn..?

well, 5 to 6 degrees of global warming is responsible for terrible weather, floods and mayhem everywhere, not to mention glacial meltoffs..

But I could care less Jeff, I wont be alive to see the excrement hit the fan!

sadly, even in our lifetimes we will see the extinction of thousands of species of animals, deforestation, increased pollution and a tremendous decrease of the availability of really clean fresh water.
Human beings are a huge cancer on the face of the planet, and we will no doubt accelerate the pace of global warming now.

You know Jeff, I sure have more important things to worry about than this crap...

maybe so, but all the things that we use, including computers and media are made with fossil fuels, and the growing interest in the World Wide Web and process of getting the whole world connected will also contribute to this or hasten the process of global warming.

Now you full of crap, how can my computer and my endless hours of gameplaying and porn downloading effect the world this way?

it isnt just the production of material and transportation, it is an attitude that there will always be a place to throw our crap in and our garbage and a sky to fill with our poisons...unless we find greener ways to make our products, and use more efficient energy, its gonna happen soon..

where did you find this "valuable information Jeff" (shaking his head)?

I normally dont believe most of the crap I read in the magazines and the trades, but it was interesting..where you live, it should get colder actually. National Geographic did a huge article on it, made me think...and then I watched Dave Chappell, but seriously it is gonna happen within the next twenty years..come hell or high water....

Borealis is on a distinguished road

I watched a show on the discovery channel a couple weeks ago about this saying the north atlantic is going to be our downfall when it's current and other bodies of waters current stop flowing. Especially the north atlantic though.

It's already noticable up here in minnesota, winters and summers are getting alot more "extreme" for lack of a better word. Cold as shit in the winter, and summer....well you can't even guarantee a 70-75 degree day in the middle of july or august. So much for the "dog days" of summer here.

Sigh....I need to move to florida.

That must've been when I cracked Bush over the head with a hammer I guess. Sorry fallang, had to throw that in there.

I wonder if it will be an indepedent, a democrat or a republican that has to deal with the upcoming crisis of global warming, because the United States unfortunately is one of the biggest polluters, yep. We use fossil fuels as much as China....

As a matter of fact, yes. I am completely nuts, I'm completely gone. I'm out in right field in the cornfield from the movies "Field of Dreams". When it comes to extreme weather I do things most won't, like drive right into storms that are known to produce 100Mph straighline winds, hail, tornado warnings, watches, lightning. I drool over the worst weather, I'm currently extremely pissed b/c my sister will be in florida during this next hurricane and I won't.....damn her. I swear on my life I will be in a hurricane before I die damnit!

It's fun man, hell of an adrenaline rush knowing that you're about to get your ass kicked my mother nature.

There was a F4 tornado in a town up here in minnesota named st. peter a couple years ago, went there the night after it happened to "survey" the damage. Just amazing what it did to the town, it was almost demolished to the point you could hardly recognize it was a town. Really creepy too, only lights you could see were flood lights and cops lights, was literally like a ghost town. Everything was blocked off except the main road to prevent looters, I remember there was an old brick church off the main road and the entire top steeple to it collapsed inside the church. Demolished a huge old brick gymnasium to rubble. Felt so bad for those people.

I have seen funnel clouds even several but nothing serious, was aboard ship through 3 typhoons, and watched a volcano erupt in the phillipines...what a mess. And I lived in Long Beach California for three years...sucked in a couple of tons of carbon black from the freeway..lol

Day after Tommorrow was great. Read the coming global superstorm by Art Bell, very informative. The pentagon is taking the idea seriously enough, http://www.ems.org/climate/pentagon_climate_change.html

Guys, we're just coming off of an ice age. The earth used to be WAAAAY warmer than this before the last big glaciation. During the time of the dinosaurs, average temperatures could be 120 Fahrenheit in non-equatorial locations.

Historically standing, we're still in a glacial phase, and the earth SHOULD be warming up. Plus, our magnetic poles are switching soon, which will cause massive radiation and heat gains for a time, but we aren't in control of that either.

I hate all this crap environmentalists lay down, animals and humans produce more carbon than all the cars in the world, the earth is in a warm-up stage and is progressing like normal, there are still glaciers in northern regions, there are still winters with snow, we're fricking fine!
