Hero
Worth the price of a ticket to see this, a visual masterpiece, a true aesthetic effort and genius. A tale retold in a clever way to include not one but three plot twists, and fantastic imagery. I highly recommend it.

Yup. For those who hesitate because they might think it's another "Hong Kong fighting movie", it's not. It's a compelling ancient chinese story in the time of the first emperor with highly artistic screenplay. In some ways better than multiple academy award winner "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon".

it is really good, but it made me mad when i saw it in theatres...
they actually changed a good portion of the subtiles from what they were originally, which kind of made me unhappy.
still really good, but it was better IMO

no no no, it was horrrible, I cant believe it got 3.5 stars in the denver post. The same story 4 times, and it sucked every time. All my friends were so dissapointed, we were expecting a lot of killing from the previews, sigh. Not worth the !$#( $7

from your review, I can certainly see why you were disappointed. Deeper, emoitionally driven and cerebral creations are the province of a different crowd of movie goer for sure.....

Then you went to it for the wrong reasons. It's a deep, well-told foreign film, not some trash action flick.

I also recommend a japanese epic called RAN, and the old Kurosawa movies..very compeling...and sorry my disappointed bretheren, no jackie chan or kill bill bullshit in it...(hears groaning). Perhaps a monster truck pull will have to do until a new martial arts movie is released, hey "girls gone wild" 1 and 2 are out..now there ya go, And I am sure reruns of all the Jackie Chan movies will sate your appetite for destruction...lol
