Lucas to change Boba Fett's voice in the new up and coming DVD set
Temuera Morrison, the New Zealander actor behind Jango Fett in Attack of the Clones, now voices Boba Fett in the upcoming DVD release of the Original Trilogy.
You can find the soundclip sample here http://www.bobafettfanclub.com/multi...nogooddead.mp3
"He's no good to me dead"
Personally, I think that's messed up, so messed up. Here you have something that's not broken, so why fix it?
Lucas is trying too hard man, too hard.

George lucas should be shot and hung...and castrated just in case for the sake of humanity.
He's totally destroying the good thing he had going.
It makes no sense that a 1/32nd size jabba replica is walking around outside the cantina in the re-release talking to Han Solo.
It also makes no sense that he changed it so Greedo fires first. That's fucking stupid. It doesn't even make sense! It's not a surprise shot from behind the table after being distracted if he fires first! You've just destroyed the point of the shot retard!
God I hate everything this tard has done since 1980.
Hey! Let's change this guy's voice which was perfectly good to match his father's EXACTLY for no reason because we all know that in star wars parents have exactly the same voice as their siblings. Just look at anakin/luke!
Next he'll redub luke's voice with anakin's.

Lucas lost his feeling for the StarWars universe many years ago, and it won't get any better.

It's not a father/son. It's a clone remember? So that does technically make sense, but it's really stupid. I think he kinda wrote himself into this situation.

This is old news. He owns the right to the movies and frickin' came up with them. He can do whatever he wants to them. If you don't like it, don't buy it.
Besides, who REALLY needs a fourth copy of the original trilogy sans enhancements? New material should be welcomed, and if not, DON'T BUY IT.

supposedly, after episode 3 comes out, they're going to have all 6 of the movies put on one DVD collector's box. That's what i'm waiting for. I really enjoy the star wars movies. The last time i saw the originals i was really young, so i don't remember much of any of them.
Now is it true that after episode 3, they're going to make 7,8, and 9? From what i've heard it's true, but G. Lucas won't be the writer/director/producer of that set.

Ugh, another grumpy post by you. Seriously, if you had nothing to add to the topic that won't annoy others, then cease from posting, please?
There's a difference between new material, and ruining a classic.

So his voice changes, who cares, now if Lucas would change the way he dies, now that would be something, cause in my opinion, his death was just lame, he should have given more of a fight.

The way they both die is pretty lame, they just kind of stop trying right before they die it seems

Doubtful, do you think they'd hire a 60 year old Harrison Ford and a bunch of washed up actors to do sequals? It's not going to happen.

Once again, common sense evades you. The classics can be had on VHS and Laser Disc, in no less than 5 versions. People have survived for 10 years without the DVDs.
This is basically a "director's cut" version of the film. The way he wanted it to be. If you don't like it, DON'T. BUY. IT. I don't care about the format issues, a VCR can be bought for 30 bucks if you don't already have one. A person can do WHATEVER they want with their intellectual property, and not being able to stifles creativity. For all you know, if you can get past your biases, this version will be BETTER than the classics. If not, DON'T BUY IT.
And aren't you the same guy who thinks "Khan" is funny? You're one to talk about adding things to conversation, aren't you?

::sigh::
let's TRY and keep this out of the FWZ shall we......
i musts ay i adore star wars and go see them all when they come out simply b/c of what they are....just like i did with LoTR and the Matrix. I also don't see hwo a voiceover is a bad idea...the onyl people it pisses off are the purists who don't like the new movies anyways, and won't be buying the box set, which is why he redid the voice, so the continuity of them movies is better.

well...seeing as most people dont have laserdisc players...thats out of the question.
vhs is bad quality, and it degrades. the last time i watched my star wars vhs it was almost unwatchable it was so washed out.
all im saying is they should at least release the originals on vhs.

Heh.. I still have my "definitive star wars collection" laser disc box set. That puppy sold for $250 back then. Got the book and all the extra goodies all in CAV format. :-)
Those are the orginal and will worth more once the 'new' verison hits I think.

Stubbornness seems to be your forte. Unlike you (and I speak for most Star Wars fans) no one is going to convert them to DVD, or spend that much time doing it. Not only that, most people don't use VHS (if you're a movie buff).
It's not a director's cut. Do you know what a Director's cut is? It's when they basically add in the things that were taken out.
I never said anything about the DVD collection not being good, you just assume too much.
Here's a tip, if you don't like what's being posted in a thread, you don't have to post in it. You're in no way logical, or helpful. All you ever do is spew negative garbastic, caveman drivel.
And as for the 'Khan' sites, yes, I and others find it funny. I'm sorry if a light doesn't go on upstairs and causes you to laugh.
But like I said before, if you don't find it funny, that's fine. No one's forcing you to find it funny. I'm not Karl Marx. But when you start to act like your feces doesn't stink, and would bash the opinions of the few people who posted in the thread, then that's when it becomes an issue.

Are you kidding me? It's like changing Darth Vader's voice, taking out James Earl Jones' voice and putting in someone else's.
It's an instant classic.
Boba Fett never died. He fell into the Sarlacc pit and will be back in Episode 6.

We know this, he's just trying to use some reasoning behind his negative retort.

Yes, yes, but you see, I'm a huge Boba Fett fan. I could see if they did a voice over for some alien that no one really cared about, but..this is Boba Fett.
I'm not making a big deal about it (hence I made a thread about it here to discuss), it was on www.bobafett.com so I figured I'd bring it over here to discuss.
How would you feel if they changed C-3PO's voice and took away the English accent and put in an italian accent? "Oh, momma mia R2-D2, we'a in soma' kinda' trouble, no?"

What makes you think that? And you claim I have an absence of common sense?
The movies will be after the original Star Wars, thus making it logical for him to be older, along with the others.

THis is something that someone posted in that other thread:
"Y'know, I grew up with a lot of things that I thought were fantastic. Loved 'em. Wished they'd go on forever. But then I got older and realized that unfortunately just because something starts off good it doesn't stay good. Things happen, people change, etc etc etc. The best you can really hope for is to be left with good memories of the things you did love. Well in this case the constant dickering plus the flat unavailability of an original version vs the new new special editions makes that impossible. That is the reason I complain."
