If Lucas has become so stupid that he doesn't understand the mask thing that he created and, after ignoring that, thinks voice continuity is so important...
If he doesn't understand 'suspesion of disbelief' that the entire series is based on (especially the new movies - they're not as believable as the older ones) and can't trust the viewing audience to recognize the difference between old and new movies...
Well, maybe he should have cast jango's role properly for ep2 then!

Considering that Stormtroopers are about as incompetent as the bots I say these movies are just retarded. In the trilogy I felt that those stormtroopers needed training up the yin-yang. So just the movies don't make much sense to me.

And what use is flaming the inevitable, like you're doing? I'm free to speak my mind, whether my crap truly stinks or not. And besides, someone needs to stand up for the improvements this version could possibly bring. I've watched the originals far too much to get anything out of it anymore, and embrace a new, updated, revamped version. If it turns out sucky, so be it, it sucks. But fruitlessly complaining about something you have no chance in the world of changing just boils down to a blatant attack on the company responsible for the movies. Excuse me for defending something you didn't want defended.
Good way to assert yourself!
Um...no he won't. He falls in the pit in Episode 6.
The books take place right after the battle of Endor. At the point in time that they could use the old actors, they'd be 25 years into the books.
"WTF? Luke's a Jedi Master who fell to the darkside, killed a clone emperor, and married some chick named Mara Jade...then their son died?"
"Since when did Chewbacca die? That sucks!"
It's not going to happen, ever.
|
You're the one who decided to start the flamming, not I.
And it isn't as if they were already put on DVD, they're just coming out, so of course I'm mad.
You know, I'm not sure if you were taught this in college, but if you have an opinion, you're free to speak it. However, there's a way of going about it. You don't slam someone, say they lack common sense, or consider their opinion wrong. Take a few classes in Sociology.
Boba Fett didn't die. If you were a fan of hte movies, you'd realize that he fell into the pit, but never died. You'd realize he was going to be put in "Heir to the Empire" or "Shadows of the Empire". With Sarlacc pit damage.

i always thought of boba fett as my favorite character in starwars (followed closely by han)
his voice was one of the cool things about him...so it sucks to me that he's changing it.
i'm glad i still have the originals on vhs.

MAN THAT IS SO F>ED UP. George Lucas started the downward spiral with the ewoks and he continues to destroy his original masterpieces. Personally, I liked the old models for everything instead of the CG bs. They should have just worked on removing the black lines around things and the hoth scenese would still be totally awesome. One of the great things about SW was the fact that he used all the puppetry and models to bring a crazy world to life. When the movies came out, nothing so realistic looking had ever been done.
Now to change BOBA FETTs voice!???

lol, it's funny you bring up the ewoks...lol that sequence is why ROTJ is probably my least favorite. You did know that george lucas partially modled them after himself? lol...he says those are his favorite characters from the original.

Look at post #14, Luck. And with your grade school reading abilities you will find that it was indeed YOU who jumped on me for making a general statement. At that point, since you lost all respect for my opinion, I lost all respect for yours.
And Shadows of the Empire happened between Episodes 5 and 6, so of course Fett could have been in there. According to the movies, the last we see of Fett is him falling into the Sarlaac pit to be digested over the course of "a thousand years." Screaming like a little girl. A fan of the MOVIES knows this. A fan of the COMICS that came out AFTER the fact would "know" he didn't die. But a movie purist would assume he would. And he won't get out of the Sarlaac pit in Episode 6, trust me.
Next time, get your facts straight before YOU go off flaming ME and then blaming it on ME when YOU started it. Idiot.

Someone posted earlier kind of as a joke that the stormtroopers should be revoiced by Jango from the original 3, but by that time the Emperor had killed a lot of his troops and had since instituted the policy of using "real" people to be troopers. In the Extended Universe he had a whole planet as a training/recruitment center (Carida was it?), well, until Kyp Durron blew it up, heh heh. Anyway, along the lines of what someone else posted, episodes 7,8,9 could be made no problem. George Lucas completely ignores everything in the E.U. that he wants, what does he care, it's all his intellectual property anyway. He's proven that he doesn't care about the E.U. because of some stuff that has happened already in the new movies, you know? If they were to make episodes 7,8,and 9 they would probably not have the 4,5,6 actors in them, I mean, look at 1,2,3. They are pretty well into the past by the time episode 6 rolls around. Maybe like a cameo in Episode 7, but whatever. Okay enough of my rant. Oh before I stop, Lucas said that his Special Edition VHS versions of 4,5,6 were his 'definitive vision' of what Star Wars should be. So these new releases will be like, the "uber creator" release edition.

I love the original trilogy and really they didn't need any changes, aside from maybe cleaning stuff up abit, but even that takes away from the originals.
If he wanted to put all this stuff in, the best bet for the viewers anyway would have been to also include the unaltered original movies so we can watch them the way they were when released.

yea, im all for fixing the greenscreen lines and stuff like that...but i seriously dont think they should be modified from their original versions. the movies were great, there is no reason to change it.
it's the same way i feel about MGS: The twin snakes. while a remake with just better graphics would have been great, i knew that they wouldnt be able to do it wihtout adding their own touches. now there are tranqs in the pistol and rifle, you can shoot out cameras, hide in lockers, you start with a full bar of health...the list goes on and on.

I was addressing that person, Luck. The Khhaaarap guy. I say something, he jumps on me and calls my post worthless, then he tells ME I started a beef with him. Ha!
Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with this movie, regardless of changes. I've seen the originals so many times I can do the sound effects with my TV muted. Seriously guys.

Grade school reading ablities?
I'm hurt, especially since I gave you the benifit of the doubt, and read your mindless drivel.
I never jumped to it, you were assuming I was complaining about Star Wars when I was only addressing an issue. You do this with everyone, not just me. People have imed me on AIM to confirm this.
Oh, and now you know the whole script of Episode Six? Man, you're even ahead of Lucas.
There is no 'fact' of him dying, he fell into the pit, and the pit digests you for thousands of years. He comes out, they even made a Sarlacc pit damage Boba Fett action figure, because Lucas DID say he plans on making him come out. That's why the comic books stated it.
Looks like I struck a nerve. Better unsubscribe from this thread, before you give yourself a heart attack, Tyson.

You know, if I were to do the same things to you as you have recently started doing to me, I would get banned. So I'll stop, for the sake of my desire to remain here.
Please admit your mistakes and quiet down. Or else take it to the flame warzone, where we can discuss this more appropriately.
(I can't believe I've stooped so low as to say that)
You're witnessing a new, brighter, "less grumpy" (bah) Reno. They've built him stronger, faster than never before.
I love you!

Meh, you wouldn't get banned, because of the following:
A.) You're the one who started the name calling. Believe it or not, calling someone 'ignorant' or saying someone has the 'inablity to read and comprehend' is an insult.
B.) You may have negative comments, but it's how you go about saying them. Hell, I really don't care, but it's the simple fact of which forum this is. Ask anyone who knows me, I'm an asshole, I've been banned from sites. I was IP banned from livejournal.com. Hell, I was forum banned from a game I pay to play (SWG). I can really piss people off, and I can honestly verbally destroy them. So it's not as if I'm upset about what you said, it's more geared towards the fact that your actions aren't permited on this site. Any other site, and I'd put you in your place in a nanosecond.
I haven't made any mistakes. There are no mistakes in stating your own opinions, in fact, I encourage people to state their opinions.

I'm done with this thread. There's not much use in trying to reason with someone as verbally powerful as you.

this is star wars, not 4 year old 'he started it' crap....now both of you go sit in time out and think about how bad you;ve been
anyways....in blockbuster today i saw that they are pre-ordering the box set bundled with 7 free movie rentals for $60...it's very tempting
