Hi, I'm the owner of a multimillion dollar software company named Valve Software.

Over the years, we've produced some great games (Half life), and some crap mods (Counter Strike). We have generated hordes of newbs, practically invented camping, and are responsible for most of the lamers who tend to idle on IRC networks such as Quakenet.

For this, we are sorry, but the main reason we are selling, is the half life 2 debacle. The truth is, it doesn't exist. The thing is, Half Life was created using the Quake engine, which is relatively simple, and didn't take too much work to get sorted out into a game. I can't code, and when we decided to create half life 2, we found out that the people actually expected us to have a decent engine, and shiny graphics. We quickly photoshopped some 'screenshots' from magazines of other games like Doom 3, and with the millions that we had inherited from Half Life sales, we paid actors to dress up in cartoonish suits, and pretend to shoot each other on videos that we then released to the public.

Unfortunately, the release date crept up on us, and contrary to our expectations, rather than everyone simply forgetting that we were going to release a game, it snowballed, and we ended up with millions of people waiting for something that didn't exist. We quickly manufactured a 'source code' leak, and by making it so buggy and patchy, we hoped to fool people into thinking that there was actually a game to play.

It worked, and the majority of people fell for it, however, this only bought us a small amount of time to work with, and we had to keep pushing back the release date with pitiful excuses, like 'engine tweaking' and 'graphic updates'.

Now, with the release of Doom 3, we have realised that we cannot compete with such greatness.

I apologise for all the distress we have caused, and to right this wrong, we are putting up the company for sale, with the hope that some generally l337 h4x cod3r will buy it, and do something with the licenses.

Summary:

Multimillion Software Company, hardly used, licenses for franchises such as half life and counter strike, and my body, for whatever purposes you deem fit.
