New Fish Tank!!
A guy I work with offered me an AWESOME deal on a 75Gal tank with everything I needed including stand and the top for $150. I could not pass it up so I bought it Tuesday and got it set up wednesday. It is in the break in period now but should be ready by Friday for my fish. Here is a picture of my setup from Wednesday night.

You should get a starfish, they look cool, you can see their suction cups moving when they're on the side of the tank.

If I had salt water tanks I would but all my tanks at this time are freshwater. This tank is going to be my Cichlid tank.

No way!! They are a blast to watch. You get the right fish in a tank and you will sit and watch them for a long time. My Angel Fish tank is probably the best one to watch since they are a very social fish. They like to watch you. It is kind of funny becasue as you walk past the tank they will follow you. Plus fish tanks are nice and relaxing. If I have had a bad day I sit in front of one of my tanks for an hour or so and it is amazing how much they can relax you.

I used to have a Siamese fighting fish - and an old birdcage mirror that I'd dangle in for a laugh

Good buy, usually Aquariums are five or more dollars per gallon at that size (at least they were several years ago). Terrariums are typically a dollar a gallon due to the cheaper sealing material at the edges. Again, good purchase!

There will be a 9" Pleco going in there and a 3 1/2" Blue Malawi Zebra. I am in the process of figuring out what other Lake Malawi Chiclids will go in the tank. I am hoping to have a total of 6-10 fish in the tank and all shold be 3" to 6" in size other then the pleco.
I have 4 other tanks besides this one. One is a variety of Fresh water fish, another is smaller Malawi Chiclids , another is a Betta, and the 4th is Angel fish. Yea I kind of jumped into this hobby deap but I love fish and watching them. Like I said before, it relaxes me like nothing else.
The more I look at the tank the more I am glad I jumped on the buy. My one friend said he just sold his set up which is similar to this one for $250. Gotta love it when you catch a great deal!!

buy really cheap fish until you get the h2o conditions established.
put the plex in there a couple of days before the cichlids so he can assert 'his' territory. i have lost several plexs buy putting them in by themselves into an 'established' tank. though with the size difference it should not matter to much.
jmo/advice - in my experience it is NEVER a good idea to add a single fish to a cichlid community. if there was a specific single fish i wanted to add to one of my tanks i would purchase a couple of cheapos, throw them in 1st, wait a while for the games to begin then put my primary purchase in.
cichlids are a blast!!
one other thing. OVER FILTRATE. cichlids are notoriously messy. i always ran 50-100% over normal req. for my tanks. makes your life & the fishes much easier.

really good deal man. If i could fit in a larger tank in my room, i'd do it in a heartbeat. But for now, i only have a 15 gal tank in my room. Needs new lights though ; the old ones burnt out.

The h2o conditions are there already. A guy I work with showed me a few things and I was able to get the tank "broken in" in 5 days. The Pleco went in last night (there have been 25 neons in there since Wednesday just for break in purposes) and the rest of the fish will go in Friday. This is my 6th tank I have set up and I have had great luck setting them all up. Most have been good to go in 8-10 days. This one I did a bit different and was able to get everything to level off in 5 days.
As for pics of my other tanks, I will try to get them up tonight but definatly by tomorrow.
