Image hosting for DH members only *important changes - please read*
***************
I've just had my attention drawn to some Warez hosted on the dhuploads site... please do not upload any form of warez to this site!
Because of this, and the fact that it has been getting rather pricey for me to maintain lately... I am restricting dhuploads to images only.
Everyone has until Monday August 22nd in order to back up and delete any non-image files that are on the dhuploads server. Any that are left on the server after this point will be deleted and i'm afraid will not be backed up.
Thank you

that's where the files will be uploaded to... I will create a sub-folder or sub-domain for individual users who are going to use it alot... this service is free with no file size or bandwidth limits.
All you have to do is PM me for access to the ftp.
Any issues or problems in any way with this service... please contact myself and I will do my best to sort it out. This is being run as something for the community and anything such as TwistedMetals actions of adding crash scripts or other malicious act will result in a ban from using the service.
_________________
slight change to the username - "u36132583-dh" instead of u36132583dh - but the password is the same. Full access to that folder as usual... please be considerate to other people's uploads... it has worked very well so far.
Please try to avoid large demand files... 800GB per month transfer may sound like alot... but when a driver or other large demand file is hosted 800GB can go in a day... the main use of this server should be for images/sigs and small video files etc... small files... should someone wish to host a large file - please contact me first via pm or jonmacrae@lincolnshire.eclipse.co.uk (msn email and standard email address)... enjoy!

edit as of 8th July 2005:
For everyone who was using this service and in the past few months index files have been affected by some strange toolbar... here's the situation as it stands:
It appears that a virus must have gotten onto the server... It affected EVERY index file within its reach... this includes my index files which are only accessible via my master username and password. I'm still unsure of the source of this problem. Apparently a friend of mine with a server that's hosted by the same company as me has had the same problem... so i think it is safe to assume it was a problem at this companies end and NOT a malicious act by anyone who has the username and password for driverheaven uploads.
All I can say is sorry for the inconvienience... I hope you all had backups, otherwise rewites of index files will be required i'm afraid.

Wow thanks, that's an awesome way to support the site- I feel people's pain that want to upload images but don't have a reliable place to do it.. I have about 20mb (from ISP) but that goes quick and I have have to clean it all out periodically..

Yeah there has to be some limits, eg. if someone uploads a 250 mb cs-movie or something similar, there will be ALOT of bandwith usage and to my knowledge, bandwith isn't free for servers

I'm just going to use it for images and small files. I do have one request though, set index.html files in the main directory and sub folders, that way people can't see everyone's stuff. lol

make your own folder if you'd like to and put your stuff in the folder - make sure to copy over the .htaccess file though - don't move it though - copy it

the .htaccess file lets you view the contents of the folder as it is atm... if you don't have that file it gives you an error message

If you are using IE, don't view the TwistedMetal folder.
It's not IE friendly, it kills all IE trespassers. That's what you get for using it!

I'm going to California for three weeks on the third - so I won't be on the net often.
So August 3rd and onwards you will need to PM fallang_jeff to get the username and pass

really? thats what they get for using it? ive had 5 complaints about this and 1 user lost files due to your wonderful idea. this is a community service tasty has held not a public example of how cool you are.
You have been banned again for your actions, when you grow up, let me know.

editted my first post to include a warning...
message to users... do not do anything like this - if you want to stop people from viewing your files through IE - then put in place an index.html or do not add a .htaccess file... I do not see why people would put private files on a public server like this.
TwistedMetal, your scripts will shortly be removed. Apologies for any invonvienience this has caused members.
