I think you have to run your mouse over the small ad, and a big one pops up-- but I'm not sure.. The way I scroll and navigate around, I usually run my mouse over the ads- not on purpose it just happens. Maybe that's why.. Also if you use FireFox I think it blocks those kinds of ads, but not sure.. It only happens once in a great while anyway.. I've only seen maybe 5 or 6 the entire time I've been coming to DH...
