The particles in Saturn's rings are composed primarily of water ice and range from microns to meters in size. The rings show a tremendous amount of structure on all scales; some of this structure is related to gravitational perturbations by Saturn's many moons, but much of it remains unexplained.

Ice, rocks, stuff like that--
maybe what is left of a crushed moon? Nobody knows exactly, but they are finding out more every second now.. They are learning a lot about gravity I guess- by the formations.. Cool stuff.

That's an awesome photo, one of the best of Saturn I've ever seen. I've been following the progress of Cassini lately on the Spaceflightnow news site, but they put only a few pictures there and I haven't had time lately to take a more indepth look at the nasa site.
We'll see true scientiffic discoveries in January (you know what will happen then, don't you), thats for shure!
