Ride is almost finished!(pics)
Well, all my hard work since 1996 is finally starting to pay off. Today she looked like a complete vehicle and I should be able to get my inspection sticker...legally!. Feels like nothing can touch me when I'm in this thing, its like total freedom that cannot be expressed.

Btw, it's a 1971 Chevy Impala
Please post your own rides so I can drool over them if you wish.

Guad..... i miss my 1973 Olds with the 455 rocket and massive weight..... Looking damn sharp... just needs a WEE bit of color or some acrilic.. something simple.... not like racing stripes or something... something simple on the sides....

Nice, you could turn it into a G-machine for the twisties and surprise the hell out of the Corvettes. That would be funny.

Thanks for the kinds words guys and I'm glad it brought a smile to you. I know what its like to have had something and wish you never got rid of it IamLakota, probably the reason I kept this one. A lot of people say they enjoy the memories it brings back and I believe them. Around here there ain't too many oldies so I guess they love it when I take her out. But me and this car have some history...we almost died together! In fact I like it so much because it scares the crap put of me Been repairing it from that major accident since '96 and after enough money to get me a new BMW its ready to go. But I do agree with you Judas, some kind of pinstripe going down the sides would be very nice. I have also thought about making it a car for the twisties but we'll have to wait to fill the account up a bit for the next step. Right now not even a Viper can touch it in the first quarter mile
Now if I could only find a grill..

Just need to replace the grill and you'll have a sweet ride. She looks like she was well taken care of too.

Thx bud, it hasn't even seen rain in about 10 years lol. But with the grill situation I'm going to have to get a custom made piece as originals are non existant. Sometimes I wish it was camaro or something that I can find parts for. You believe it took me over a year and a half to find a new front end and cost over $900 just to ship it from Arizona? I will be taking it out every day now though, enjoying every minute

Bikes are way cool, dont blame you there But she puts out about 588hp@7500rpms(flywheel hp) not sure how much gets to the wheels...yet
Edit- Btw, it's a 357c.i small block, naturally aspirated.

Got me before my edit above Gas-wise its not too bad unless you get on it at which point you can see the needle move at a good pace Environment? What's that? But really, I do understand that it isn’t helping so I try not to drive it too often. Usually only on the weekends unless I get special requests

indeed.... i think that size of engine and that year.... they put out on the road approximately 300hp maybe more.....
BHP is kinda useless, Wish there were DINO results posted for every car...
I myself REALLY wish i can get the old 1973 olds from my dad and fix it up, it's a full sized family car with 4 doors.... HOWEVER, i think it looks frigen slick with 4 doors as there isn't any divided bar going between the 2 doors.... Wanted to get Suicide doors for the back so it opened up neato.
That car you have and my car will leave majority of ANY new car spewing our smoke

Dipstick try www.classicindustries.com they might have a grille for your car.
I've been putting togther a 1986 GMC S15 and have found several parts there
that nobody seems to have. Also do a web search for impala car clubs you might get some help there.
So what type of gas do you run in her reg pump gas or hightest with some lead additive.
I know I used to run cam2 in my chevelle but only on friday nights,..lol,..yeah I can remember all those street races back then,...funny though they still street race just now I guess it's smaller fast cars and truck's. Well any way don't give up on finding a grille persistence most times pays off.
I'll post some pics of before and after on this little truck I'm doing once she is done, and oh yeah dipstick pease tell me this engine you got in your car is painted chevy orange not black.

Thanks for the kind words fellas, it feels good to see all my hard work appreciated. And thanks much IamLakota, I have been calling those guys every year to see if they get anything for me but it seems '71 is a year I'm the only one restoring lol. I will try them again though, thank you. Please do post some pics of your project if you can I'd love to see it. Trucks are sweet!!
As for gas I put in Sunoco 94 with some special additive the guy that put the engine together gave me. A small cup is all that is needed to boost 16 gallons of gas(all it can hold so you can imagine I stop often) to about 110 octane; but it does run on super(93) if need be. The engine is painted a silver color-you can check it out at the link below. Mine is the same as the third option minus the aluminum heads but the picture is my engine. I haven't raced her yet, I'll save that for the track lol, cops would hear me coming 2 miles away if I got on it.

with all the animal and fat kid contacts.. yes... it's in rather VERY good shape considering..... only a little fiberglass fractuing around the headlights and under the bumper (bumper doesn't look even scratched).... the rear wheel wells are completely disincrating...... and it's riding a bit low in the back...
