Looks like a Fluffy to me. Nice Pup!
or you could borrow my sister's dog's name: Mocha, it would fit that puppy well.

if it uses the carpet, hold its face in it, scold it, and possibly spank (like a child )

use that stuff that comes in a spray can(called 'Indoor No!!!' i think), it helps a lot
u spray it and they won't go there(and it duznt stink either)
and once they elarn u can quit sprayin it

Pick the mess it left on the rug up and show it to him when you go to show and paddle it.... our dog took 2 dumps..... since then. it'll do anything it can to not leave a mess anywere in the house....

Go outside with the puppy for a long time, eventually it will piss, when it does, give it praise and a treat- Positive reinforcement-
Then when it pisses or craps indoors, you know what to do-- stern and SWIFT justice.. negative reinforcement-
If it doesn't happen fast (the reinforcement), the dog will be confused- They forget easily, even with their own crap..
Those dogs are smart, it won't take long..

Aw, cute pup.
Gotta go with what BWX says about the training - its the best way. The ideas that you can scream at a dog or rub his nose in his shit are counter productive and a little cruel.
We used the same methods on my mothers dog and she was house trained in just over a week.
