Hey all, remember that problem I posted about having with my CDRW? Well, it was this POS program called Cdila. Cdilla is:

CDilla disables your CD burner when copy protected software is on your computer, thus preventing you from copying ANYTHING to a CD. The program also monitors what copy protected software you are using, tracks all of your downloaded files, disables "certain" Internet downloads, disables any CD-RW it detects in your CD-ROM, and possibly sends user data off to a remote server without your permission.

C-Dilla is installed silently onto your computer without your knowledge or permission and continues to operate even after the software it was originally installed with is removed. It remains in the background monitoring your computer and reporting information back to its own servers through your Internet connection.

CDilla is bundled with Unreal Tournament 2003, TurboTax, game demos and numerous other programs.

If you remove it, TurboTax 2002 will not work.

Okay, spyware hunters (adaware, spysweeper, etc.) will not remove this. Or, they will remove it, however it will come right back. After some searching, I found a URL http://www.geocities.com/SiliconVall...laremoval.html that tells you how to remove it. The Safecast Uninstaller it says to get, AFTER uninstalation of TurboTax is found at http://support.turbotax.com/kb/ViewD...tegoryId=80068

This finally got my burner to work...so if you have problems, and cdilla shows up on spyware. Follow those instructions to get rid of it.
