Braodband record broken..
Sprint has claimed a new world record for the transfer of data across the Internet. Working with the Swedish National Research and Education Network (SUNET), the company says it sent 840GB of data from a PC in San Jose over 10,000 miles to another PC at the University of Lulea in northern Sweden in less than 27 minutes.
The Sprint/SUNET team set a new record of 69,073 Terabit metres per second (distance x transfer speed). The data was sent via the SprintLink and GigaSunet IP backbones whilst other traffic was also using the network.
