P880 - Controller
OK... i've been leary about picking up a controller for ages... as i've handled some at a store a few times and said.. hmm... seems good.... feels good.. and then actually bought one and took home to find out it's a big pile of utter crap.....
(example would be some of the newer Logitech controller with the dual analog.... no touchy..... the logitech wingman Extreme 3D is by far one of the best yet)
anyways.... i've heard the name of the controller being mentioned on here a good while ago.... well.. futureshop decided to get a few in.... damn cheap... REALLY damn cheap... $29.99, i mean, WOW...
I'm tempted to go pick up 2 more maybe.....
These controllers absalute rock.... i've still a few things to try out... but button are plenty full.... the abilities you can do is pro.... i'm very happy ...extremely happy with the controller...
HOWEVER... i'm still looking for a controller that is similare to this and the wingman extreme 3d i have... but with a pure simple D pad.. (cross control)

like that WITHOUT some kind of diagnal or something that goes in between..
I want straight out 0/90/180/240/0 angles.... with the ability to simply press 0+90=45 ability...

i think the best solution is what ive done...you can buy a psx to usb converter at radio shack, and use the dual analog controllers from ps2 on your computer. the analog signals and all work perfectly. best controller IMO

not the first playstation controller, the larger dualshock one. its better than the gamecube controller, which is way too small IMO, it cramps my hands under those grips

I've got the p3000 version. Basically a wireless version of the p880 but I refuse to use it anymore. The signal would break up easily and its reaction time was pathetic. That and the batteries died out in the first month of buying it and I had to be mailed replacements. The pad itself was nice. Would have prefered the 2 extra buttons to on the very top instead of the right hand side and the analog sticks could have been sturdier. Not bad I guess but for the cost you could pick up a old ps2 pad and a convertor (and I did just that).

The Saitek P880 is unequivocally the best USB gamepad you can buy. In fact, it is the best gamepad ever made.
